Not buying this. So either there are no powerful blacks or they are all just saints I guess.

If you're not buying it, answer the question. To whom would they protest?

Why would you protest black on black crimes in front of city hall? Seriously.

But that's idealistic and shite. So let's just keep doing what we're doing.

I'm back after a short nap. It IS idealistic but you can certainly work toward that idealism. I see it as unrealistic but encourage you and others to work toward this goal. What I have spoken out against is the lack of support for what is in place now. It sure ain't perfect but it is all we have.

What you and others idealistically want is a force of officers with a minimum of criminal justice degrees. That will cost a lot of $$s which the tax payer will not be willing to pay. Add to that the mentality of the kind of person it takes to do that job. Many of the ones I know were the thugs and bullies on the school ground. Many are simply criminals working on the side of the law.

You can see where getting the public to cough up the money to pay for well trained intelligent officers that are mentally prepared to do the job may be hard to accomplish in our lifetime, especially mine. I encourage you and all others to do so but I can no longer help.

BTW, I am an idealist but my spare time was spent bringing our fire dept. up to a standard and preparing it for the future. I was successful and dam proud of the finished product. It almost cost me my marriage. No go accomplish YOUR ideals dude.

Cops shooting rubber bullets tear gas and smoke bomb at riots, anonymous releasing the alleged cop's name. The Governor might come down and com the situation

It was reportedly some "revolutionaries" from Chicago. They may have studied.

It was bad enough that Al Jazeera was having to run from the front lines to continue their reporting.

"Hey, I covered the battles of Fallujah during the uprisings against the US"

"frick YOU, I covered the riots in Ferguson, MO!"

Jay Nixon has to be sitting there saying "Can't I just eat my rubber-chicken fundraiser dinner in peace?"

Well, there's apparently only 59 or 60 cops on their force so at some point after releasing various random names they'll get it right... but then you have to choose between the 59/60.

Good luck with that one

I'm ok with that. I think most people would be ok with that.

Considering that Police Chiefs are elected officials, and so are several positions in City Hall, it is an effective way to get them to listen. Not sure how that qualifies as a conspiracy...

Good. Let's tease this out a bit. I'll bet I can get you to "racial insensitivity" in 4 more posts or less.

What does it have to do with race? Someone putting a random act of violence ahead of nurturing their family is not a race issue, it's an issue with a society.

And that's what you get for assuming. You're focused, like most cops, on an us/them mentality.

I like that you assume I am a cop. No, I am simply a fan of the institution that helps to keep my family safe on a daily basis.

Exactly, and the minute one of those idiots blow themselves up along with a gas station, and an SUV with a white family I'm sure it will still be about "THOSE EVIL WHITE PEOPLE ARE KILLING OUR BLACK CHILDREN."

I'm glad you feel that cops help keep your safety. For parents of minorities, they have to fear for their child everyday because of the police.

This conversation is fun and enlightening to get other perspectives, but I'm too lazy to look up examples. You said it was over the power and not race, but there have been plenty of injustices in the black on black crimes by black people of power and yet we haven't seen any events like this to follow.

Agree, because whites tend to not focus on race and simply crime in general.

BS.

Look at the response on TD when a shooting in BR or NOLA happens. When it's BvB, the response are "Typical", "But he was a good boy, never done nuffin wrong", or "Bet he voted for Obama".

Chandler Loupe's kid gets shot at a drug deal gone bad and the responses were "He was a good kid, from a good family, who made a terrible decision".

Whites care about race more than you want to admit. Or are willing to admit.
