I think you got his point backwards.
I think that some of y'all are being purposefully obtuse on the road blocking. The police blocked the street before the crowd arrived.

What part of the Constitution was violated by them showing up in that gear?
Article the third... Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

That's right.

Are you also dumb enough to think that any protest won't have a police presence for public safety, traffic control and in case the crowd gets out of hand?
You're arguing with the wrong cat. Never said any of this.

So maybe instead of showing up ready for war they should try to do the same thing here. That's all I'm saying. Give it a shot. What's the worse that can happen? The city has already been burned down.
I understand what you are saying but you and I both know that no LEO would not be ready after what has already happened . There is no trust on either side and both sides have their reasons not to trust the other.
On a lighter note I found it funny when one protester said "man the least they could do is give us port-a-potties"

Just in time to go to bed I think.
Top...weren't we debating the other day about the looters making noise and calling the cops just like ya would on a loud neighbor and I said figure you're one of those and you told me yeah, you actually have a real job and have to get your sleep or something like that? Might have been someone else. Can't remember.
If that was you and I, I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt that you're on the west coast where it's only 11:15 and not on central time where it's 1:15 or worse on the east.

And if you had read
I read all that you have written and my conclusion stands. You expect things to be handled your way right now by what is in place to do so. That ain't gonna happen. Somebody will have to make a lot of major changes. Human nature and the state of our nation says you won't see this. That is realism.
It's been fun but wifey just said I gotta go to bed. Goodnight.

These are no longer municipal police services.
They're fricking armies.

And that's where you couldn't be more wrong. It will take a complete overhaul of the mentality of our police forces. A complete reworking of training. A lessened focus on the drug war. And a return to community policing. It will likely take decades.
But if we pretend there isn't a problem, we'll continue to mount up Michael Browns, Jack Wranas, Luis Rodriguezes, Eric Garners, Christopher Roupes, Michael Kellys, and unfortunately I could go on and on. And the violence from the citizenry will increase as well. None of that will end well.
But that's idealistic and shite. So let's just keep doing what we're doing.

You don't think a town with a population of just over 8,000 people needs an army?
