You're probably 100% correct, and I agree that may be a more productive approach.

However, I don't believe the police showing up ready for "war" gives the protesters the right to be violent. I don't think you believe that either, but some in this thread have said otherwise.

It wont matter or do anything, but i tweeted at Jay Nixon to get off his arse and get @AntonioFrench out of jail.

City might have some useless aldermen and women, but French is one of the good ones.

Exactly. It amazes me how some people think "The police showed up in riot gear! It's their fault it escalated!" like the protesters/rioters aren't rational thinking people who made their own decisions.

Can't make this shite up. I was joking before but now I really wonder if the cop had told him to suck his dick and he refused, would he have been arrested?

Everyone's actions are their own. They each shoulder their own responsibility.

Idk they were making racist comments. Plenty of other ignorant comments also. Had they remained peaceful it would have left a better impression.

I saw it and heard it. I knew what was coming next. This won't last much longer. LEO gonna pull out all the stops. They is gonna lock this place down. Sundown tomorrow night is going to be very different from the last few nights.

Happens every time. This gives the cops an open door to use more strong arm tactics.

I would venture a guess if you polled the nation right now, they would find just as much wrong with LE as they do the rioters. No one is going to justify rioting, but tonight there was literally 2 guys out of all of them there tonight that were thugs. One threw a bottle. One threw a molatov cocktail. The rest really were pretty obedient. Every time the cops asked them to move back 25 feet, they did. Then they just got unloaded on because of 2 people. People will see those 2 people as wrong but they'll also see the way our LE is handling it just as wrong.

riot gear and battle gear are 2 different things. they chose to use their new toys from the federal government on these people.
They gave been begging the people to start shite. Calling them animals while they protested, saying shite, putting their red dots on them as they walked.

c'mon

Which one blocked first? Wasn't the protesters told to disperse by 6 pm?

Get 10 friends and go set up shop on a 4 lane road Saturday.,.hell do it on the interstate if you want. Just have signs for whatever cause you choose and tell me how it ends.

I don't see why people think they have rights to block off streets. Do it on a sidewalk like they were doing across from the police station.

Maybe in STL. The rest aren't engaged past "rioters and looters somewhere in flyover country."

Whatever. They still didn't attack first.

After they were attacked first. All they did was show up in the gear. Nothing wrong with that.

Well, this is downright scary:

Why the frick do they need grenade launchers?

Why do they need grenade launchers? Because defense contractors stock price doesn't go up without revenue.
