it's scarey what these cities and states are getting. some are getting light and heavy tanks(not armored vehicles, tanks).

However, I don't believe the police showing up ready for "war" gives the protesters the right to be violent. I don't think you believe that either, but some in this thread have said otherwise.
I don't believe that. I think every one of the ones that get violent should be arrested. But I also don't think that the 99% of the others that were loudly but peaceably demonstrating should be opened up on because of the 1%. What I also do believe is that a lot of the thugs aren't from the area. The thugs from outside the area aren't going to show up and do shite if they're not concealed by the local thugs. I'd put money on it that the molatov cocktail dude ain't from the area. Could be dead wrong and it's a pure guess. Beer bottle guy sounds more like what I'd expect to see from a local hood.

Red the protesters and police had agreed they would not protest where they were told to disperse from. When they were told to disperse it was to the original location. The police allowed them to block that street. So I ask again how is it a peaceful protest when they break the pre arranged agreement they had on where to protest?

Maybe, maybe not. They just want to be treated like humans and not animals. Until they are treated like humans, they will continue to act like animals though.

Oh, I know. Baton Rouge has a 15 ton troop carrier. I don't know why they need it.
Their justification was: If a hurricane hits, we need to be able to get through the really deep flooded areas.
Hurricanes don't do shite like that to Baton Rouge. We get fricked up by wind, not water.

Why do they need grenade launchers? Because defense contractors stock price doesn't go up without revenue.
Not at these prices.

Police in Watertown, Connecticut, (population 22,514) recently acquired a mine-resistant, ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle (sticker price: $733,000), designed to protect soldiers from roadside bombs, for $2,800. There has never been a landmine reported in Watertown, Connecticut

Why would you say something dumb like that? I wasn't even talking to you ... although you have already admitted to being idealistic ...
You said nothing is gonna change. If you believe that, go watch Rockford Files reruns.
Idealism isn't a weakness. Pragmatism is the religion of the weak and infirm.

And police in Bloomington, Georgia, (population: 2,713) acquired four grenade launchers through the program, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Why the frick do they need grenade launchers?
I'm not sure why they need them, but if money was no object, I could come up with plenty of reasons I need 4 grenade launchers.

This is true. The cops showed up with a show of force and intentions to use it. Their mentality is one of alpha males intending on taking control of their town. The protesters have no clear leader, no contingency plan in place, no protection, etc. A recipe for disaster. One person can provoke the cops and the whole "peaceful" protest goes out the window. Nothing new here youngun. All protesters look like crap due to one ... of course all LEO looks bad here because of ...

Get 10 friends and go set up shop on a 4 lane road Saturday.,.hell do it on the interstate if you want. Just have signs for whatever cause you choose and tell me how it ends.
We have actually had an entire highway blocked off by protestors and no, no TANKS (yeah, I typed tanks instead of armored vehicle because it's fewer letters) were brought out. No tear gas dispersed. No one shot up. They were allowed to make there statement. Do their thing. And left.

The police were only waiting till it got dark. The agreement was just o appease the people. Deep down they were begging for some one to do anything to get it on.
Once it got dark, this was never going to be peaceful. Balmer said it himself earlier in the day, were clearing the streets and no bs.

Just wait. They fricked up arresting the reporters. They were on MSNBC or whatever the second they were released talking about how out of control LE is. The images from today will give others as many visuals to remember as the QT burning did.

So the cops were wrong. I agree on that.

Tell you what. You can have our LE and we'll just hire new ones that understand and respect the constitution.

You are the one that is obviously incapable of understanding they agreed on a location and the protesters didn't keep up their end of the deal.
Are you also dumb enough to think that any protest won't have a police presence for public safety, traffic control and in case the crowd gets out of hand?

Probably right. Still doesn't justify giving them that reason.
