They cannot make that promise, and if they did, the opponents would (rightly) call them on it.
So why sign the petition if the only two issues are new/better schools and getting separation from all the black people, and you can't guarantee a school?
I'll be told I'm wrong again, but posters saying "Baton Ruudge" and the fact that the only "I'm In" sign in my neighborhood is in front of a house with Nazi flags says otherwise.

Together BR has been exposed as anti business group. They are pretty toxic I don't see them winning many new converts to their side.

Together BR and all similar groups can get fricked.
The idiots of Baton Rouge deserve the pending implosion.

She's a real peach
Also, these are some shady organizations, mainly because they fight to prevent people from voting and they are thieves:

I’d love to see Together BR leaders be imprisoned but I know it’ll never happen

Any chance you telling me how my 2 black neighbors and I will be separated if this passes? Also, I live approximately 4.5 miles from the nearest 70805 boundary. Could you also tell me how this incorporation will push me farther away from that zip code which is majority black? I didn't see anything on the St. George website about getting separated from black people. Apparently you have more info than I. Please share. Thanks

Take a picture of this and post it today or you are a liar.
Even if that is true, you can't just say that all people who support the movement are neo-nazis. Don't you realize that is how you and your like ensured that Trump was elected? When your only response is to scream racism, it implies that your position is without base.

I could give two shits about the school. I would imagine the vast majority of families that live in the proposed St. George, send their kids to private schools, which is evident by the fact that there is only 1 public high school in the proposed city of 85,000 people.
the private high school all of those kids are going to go to is still better than Central, or Dutchtown, or Zachary. That doesn't mean that a good public school in proposed St. George wouldln't be great, but you're not going to change the opinions of most private school parents any time soon. If people in the proposed St. George wanted to save money and send their kids to public school, they would have already moved to one of those other 3 school districts i mentioned, but they haven't, likely b/c they have a belief that their kid should go to a christian, most likely catholic, school.
The biggest thing that needs to happen from St. George is the fact that the mayor of Baton Rouge shouldn't be making decisions for the parish as the president.

Again, all anyone opposing this has is BS like this guy here. My neighborhood with over 400 homes has 90% of the households on the petition but we might have 2 signs out. You know what, if you don't like the idea, just vote against it like you did Trump.

In Houston you spend more on property tax than we do on private schools

This is 100% false in my case. I have one in Catholic school and another who will be soon, but I would rather not. As a matter of fact, I would prefer to send them to a private school that isn't religion-based, as I think worship and education are entirely different matters.

Man I lived there before i had kids and yes, that tax bill hits you HARD. Nice to not pay state tax out of your check and on groceries and stuff but lawd, that's a tough pill to swallow in December

It's my opinion that the movement is sort of hamstrung by the consolidated government model used by Baton Rouge jointly with East Baton Rouge Parish.

Folks in EBR who send their kids to private schools pay state taxes for secondary education, local sales taxes and local property taxes. It's not as if paying private school tuition exempts you from all of those taxes.
I'd venture to say someone in EBR sending a kid to a private elementary school and a private middle school and living in s 400K home is paying more in taxes and tuition for schools than someone in Houston living in a 400K home.
I may be wrong maybe Texans pay more, but in EBR we pay millages, sales taxes and state income taxes to support our public schools too.
