It can be an easy thing to forget, but here's another reminder for car owners: Check under the hood every now and again.

quote:

Kellen Moore, of Gaylord, Mich., opened the hood of his car and found a squirrel (or several squirrels) stashed more than 50 pounds of pine cones in every possible free space and corner around the engine. Gaylord is about 204 miles northwest of Detroit.

quote:

"I'm going to strangle that squirrel with my bare hands," Moore cracked in a Facebook comment on the post.

That's someone who doesn't do regular maintenance on their vehicle. They deserve that

I keep a pair of rubber boots under my carport with a hand towel draped across them to keep critters out. Picked up the boots one day and something was rattling around inside. Turned out to be about 50 acorns in one of the boots.

Don’t know how they did it but the towel was draped across the boots just like I had left it.

At the speed of squirrels I would think it would take that long.

I found two bushels of pecans clogging my rain gutters. Wasn't even mad because they came from my a-hole neighbors trees who bitched at my kid for picking them up.

Looks like Mr. Squirrel did a good job of sorting and storing the pine cones based on size.
He wins the "5S" award for the month.
