I have once and I still feel bad about it. Merle's in Shreveport circa 1998. My roommate and ride home convinced me to stop there to eat after a long night of drinking. I told him I didn't habe any money left. He said don't worry I got you. So we dined. Place was packed about 2am. We ate 3/4 of our meals and he gets up and says to me...I have no money either and I'm leaving. And he bolts. I thought he was joking then I saw him walk out the door and when he got outside I saw him sprinting through the window. I thought for a second I had no choice. Then I made a move. Jumped in the car like Luke duke and never looked back. It still haunts me.

I went out with a girl once who wanted to dash just for the fun of it. I didnt want to. She pretty much pleaded with me before she walked out. I stayed and payed the bill, and found her by the car. We didnt have sex.

Omelette Shop.

After drinking hours one weekend.

Place is packed.

Sit for an hour, waitress keeps telling us our food is on the way.

Then she tells us the kitchen lost our order, and we'd have to order again.

She says, "Don't worry, you don't have to pay for your first order."

Half an hour later, our food arrives.

My friend says, "Did she say something about us not having to pay?"

I nod.

We walk out without paying.

Sort of. Went so CiCi's blackout one time during spring break with a group. Was so drunk I went straight to the food and started eating. Rest of the group paid. I don't remember much.

Merle's? If you mean Murrell's, you're far from the only one. There's so many escape routes from that place nobody was ever catching you. I remember it being a pretty common thing.

I did for the first time with six of my pledge brothers in the BR Sambo's in 1978. Two car loads of us all got up and left. Did it four or five other times. Every time I did it everyone that did it had the money. It was just kind of a dare thing. Did it a couple of times at the Vagabond Inn in Monroe when there were tables full of cops there. Never did it drunk or high. Was stone cold sober every time.

remember one time the manager chased me around the parking lot, that fat bastard wouldn't give up
finally lost him in the sherwin williams parking lot

In middle school I went out to eat with friends for one of the first times and the waitress never brought me my ticket. So I just didn't pay. I thought it was pretty cool that they didn't charge me. I didn't know enough about how anything worked to realize that the food was put in the system and the waitress just forgot the ticket or the printer ran out of paper, etc. I told my mom when I got home (she had been a waitress all through high school and for a little while after I was born) and she gave me such a beating and told me that the poor waitress had to pay for my meal. I felt horrible because it never occurred to me that someone else would pay. I learned my lesson. That is the difference between certain groups of people, my mom beat my arse and other parents encourage this behavior and even train their children.

Accidentally due to a mixup in the group I was eating with. Went back the next day and paid for the meal with a bigger tip.
