Judging from past experience, ask my yankee neighbors what time they wanted me to turn it off. Their little darling couldn't sleep with the noise.

I'd probably fish a little more

Do other places have power? If so, I'd just kill some family and live in their house until I could go back home.

Some of you people need to go outside once in a while. Go for a run or even just a walk. Exercise isn't the devil.

We had a bad storm in BHam that knocked the power out for about 8 hours.
I took the dog for a walk and saw almost all of my neighbors outside enjoying themselves; children playing in yards singing and laughing and running without a care in the world; men working on projects and women checking gardens. I met four new people and had genuine conversations with people I’d only glimpsed as they drove by in closed off cars on their way to traffic jams and work meetings. It was like I stepped into a different dimension and no matter how alive the neighborhood felt in that brief moment, it wasn’t enough to lure us away from the screens and WiFi signals and artificial social lives as soon as the power blinked back on.

If power went out for years, I'd act like I was in Mad Max.

I backpack regularly and friends sometimes invite me to go the day before. If my power and water both went out I'd be fine for a solid week provided I could find a natural stream somewhere that I could treat.
I'd probably have to find a spot in the woods somewhere though, I live in a very dense urban area where open flames are not allowed so I wouldn't be able to stay home. My main concern would be keeping the hobos away, they probably have all the good spots.

F that. After Andrew we didn’t have power for 5 day, 13 after Katrina. It was too hot for all that shite.

14 days without power after Gustav in Houma. No internet or cable for a month. Got direct tv as soon as things were back to normal. It is amazing how much shite you can get done with nothing to do but manual activities.

Operate on my generator and live life normally. Did it for 12 days after Gustave and didn’t miss a beat

We are well prepared. We know if the power goes out that we will be that last to get it back on.
We have 3 generators. One for the house to run everything and 1 each for the campers so family and friends can stay there in an extended power outage situation.
Or if they are annoying as frick kinda friends/fam, we can just lend them to generation to use by their place so we dont have them next to us

I went without electricity for three weeks in sub-freezing weather after the 2011 ice storm. My oldest child was away in college. My middle child went to Florida with a friend's family. My wife and youngest child moved in with my mother in another town. I lit a fire in the fireplace and slept in front of it in a sleeping back with a Smith & Wesson .357 and bottle of Maker's Mark.

Well after I jerked off a dozen times and got bored I'd call the power company and ask why my power has been off for over an hour.

I'd rob a couple ATMs to pay for a fine arse hotel room somewhere that does have power.
