Spinoff thread. Most remote, secluded place you've been to.

I know there are a couple posters who've been to Antarctica, which is the most remote place on earth, but any other good stories?
Myself, as a bush pilot years ago I've been to some pretty remote places in Alaska where rescue would have been a long ways away. Other than that, a one day jungle tour in Borneo where I doubt we would have been found.

I'm a bush pilot too, and your mom's bush was pretty secluded when I visited it.

Probably Nevada, halfway between Reno and Wendover. That or western Iraq.

In North Carolina? That ain't really "remote".
Lovely place, though.

Probably somewhere in Nevada or New Mexico.

North Minnesota has a ton of sparsely populated places where you could believe no one has been out in for quite a while.
The poster that said
COPs don't count, you were around a group of folks.
Spent some time around Sinjar myself.

Yeah. Felt like it though. Wife and I were the only ones on the trail. I haven't really been anywhere totally remote.

Must have been an off time. There were a good number of people there when I did it. And it's only a couple of miles from Brevard, as the crow flies. Lovely area.

Well in Antarctica you are usually around a group of folks.

Either the top of Long's Peak in RMNP or top of Ancient Art spire in Moab

Early April. Not spring break. Weekday. We were there for an anniversary trip. Just took a drive down the parkway looking for shite to do. It was a little scary on the edge there.

Conundrum Hot Springs, about an 8-9 mile hike in. No cell service. You get hurt up there, you're not going to have a good time trying to get help any time soon.
ETA: I guess I'm considering my definition of remote as being how quickly can you get help if something goes wrong. For instance, a heli trip deep into the Chugach Range of Alaska isn't remote to me, since you have a heli already there with you.
