I've been to the airport here. Middle of f'n nowhere. Everyone on the island lined the runway as we landed and took off (pre-9/11).

Guaranteed I know your buddy's dad then. And it's only about 15 min to town so it's not that bad

Sateveo Mission, a short hike from Batopilas, Mexico in the Copper Canyon. Just getting to Batopilas at the bottom of the canyon was an adventure in itself as you have to go down a winding one-lane road with tons of switchbacks.

I got pinned by a rock while hiking and exploring in Utah. I had been there for days and ended up cutting part of my arm off to free myself.....wait never mind that was a movie I watched.
I would say hunting in the Colorado Rockies by myself. I ended up in some very remote areas and very beautiful as well.

Chandeleur Island on a broke-down boat without a VHF or sat-phone on a Sunday evening as the sun's setting. Doesn't get more remote than that.

I've never been anywhere especially remote but I really want to go to the Yukon or NW territories
I've been to a few places in the Midwest that are like teasers to the real thing

Black Rock City, NV. Well, maybe not secluded.

A random slot canyon in Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. 5 miles back out of the canyon to our car which was 25 miles from cell service via a trail/dirt road to a town that had a one pump gas station open from 10a-4p.

On the outskirts of Big Bend national park. I got high as frick, it was awesome.
I've never seen stars like that anywhere else.

I've thru rafted the Colorado for the entire length of the Grand Canyon. That was 26 days and only rescue was with sat phone and helo.
Also did some missionary work in Panama three days in, three days out by car, boat, mule, raft, hike. Then same in reverse on way out. Obviously no cell service and satellite phones didn't work well with the canopy covering and constant rain clouds.

Rural South Dakota where I was told by an alien that looked like the Michelin Man, "The next time you bring your little southern arse up here, you better wear some damn clothes." I was wearing the warmest clothes I owned.

I spent 100 days on Dugway Proving Grounds in Utah. It is a tiny little base. It is about 30 miles from the nearest town and on top of that we drove about 30 miles into the desert away from the main base every Monday afternoon and didn't come back in until Friday morning. Did that for 7 weeks straight.
It was extremely remote. I was pretty sure I was walking around in areas where people hadn't been in decades. It was visually stunning. And also the coldest I had ever been. Temps were in single digits in October. But it was also 80 degrees in August.
Good times.
