5'11" here. 75% French Cajun, 25% Spanish (Spain you dumb arse).

Tallest in my family is me.

More often than not, real Cajuns are shorter in stature. Of course there are exceptions.

PS:
I hate that we have to point out that there are exceptions this day and age, but it is the only way to stop the egocentric "well MY situation is different so you are wrong" dumb shite we see in all these threads. We get it. You're different. Good for you. Now that we have established that and it has exactly 0 to do with the conversation, we can move on.

When I was in high school, we had a guy move down from Washington State and the first thing he noticed was that it seemed like everyone was midgets.

My cousins in Lafayette are Guichards, and they are all on the short side.

My cousin by marriage in Lafayette is a Latiolais, and he is about 6'2 or 6'3.

It’s like the BMI thing. Everyone here is built like an NFL running back, so BMI doesn’t apply to them.

People in south Louisiana tend to be a little shorter on average. Lots of French Cajuns, southern Italians, and Irish. I would feel Above average height when I was in New Orleans bars, however when I went to LSU and went out I definitely felt shorter than a lot of people. (I’m 5’11)

My son and I were at the Arkansas game hanging out around the corner from the concert stage. I am 6'-6" and he is 6'-4" and we really noticed that almost everyone we saw were really short.

My neighbor in college was introduced to me as coonass. He was 6'2. Both him and his brother were about the same size broad shoulders and athletic. Think they were from Nachitoches area. Their dad was everybit of 5'6 and their mom was prolly 5'2. They were both regulators. They threw the parties, but kept the short fellars with little man syndrome in check. Good people. Ole dude married a gal from nola that was more cajun than him. Short in stature big up top. She could make some mean jambalaya. Had some big forearms i'm guessing from throwing cast iron skillets at her husband. Hadn't spoken to them in years but i'm betting their girls gonna be dunking on some folks and will help State finally win a championship in women's basketball in a few years.

Most Cajuns are probably shorter than the national average.

I'm Cajun, and might be 5'5. When girls used to tell me I was too short, I'd reply, "but im long in the pants."

It was a lie, but it fooled enough of em to make it worth it.

Maybe you need to have a close door talk with Mom.

Get out of South Louisiana and you realize just how sawed off majority of the men are back home.

Of course there are always exceptions of the rule like in this thread, but go spend the weekend in Montegut, Delcambre, Ville Platte, or Jeanerette and you see more men below 5,6” than above 5’11”.

Like that jackass poster Waydownsouth said, The hwy90 corridor, at 6’1 and I feel like an NBA player
