Recent meaning 10-20 years.

It seems like whenever a city is discussed on TD, it either "sucks" or "was better before xyz". What cities are exceptions to this?

NYC?
Chicago?

Chicago was a dirty shithole in the '90s (or so I've been told). It's very nice now.

Birmingham has had what seems like nearly a complete overhaul. Lots of good new growth, new restaurants with big time chefs, etc... hardly recognizable from 15 years ago.

+1. Wouldn't even know it used to be an industrial city.

Few if any Southern cities are better now than they were 20 years ago

We won't go into why

Probably the 4 mid sized cities that have improved the most that I have been to.

You're wrong. Just because New Orleans is still a shite hole doesn't mean other places aren't improving.

Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville, Birmingham have all improvedand cleaned up a lot in compared to just 10 years ago.
