My Canal Place Theater waitress laughs at your concession photos.

Yeah. Concession stand prices are my biggest concern when it comes to my children's future.

I worked at AMC from 2005-2010 and it's really insane how much the prices and sizes had increased from when I started to when I stopped working there. They've obviously kept going. It wasn't unusual to see a small family spend between $50-100 on popcorn and drinks on the weekend.
Most people don't realize they should go eat elsewhere first. Money is made on concessions not tickets. It's not surprising for those who know.
The popcorn secret - Palm oil that is solid at room temp.

Eat before you go. Bring your own candy. Don't be poor.

We used coconut oil, same thing....shite was like wax unless it was heated up.
Small popcorn and small coke were each $1.69....and were actually small sizes.
We do sneak in our shite. I bought nachos cause I love me some nachos. Some people had trays full of shite, can't imagine what those helpless bastards shelled out for their snacks.

Bottle of jack in the old lady's purse usually does the trick

People would always complain about how much shite cost...
It's not my fault you're a fat arse who bought 4000 calories worth of popcorn and nachos for one person. Assholes.
The old ladies with their Diet Coke and small popcorn knew how to do it.
I also learned to guess anyone's order based on race/ethnicity and was correct 90% of the time.

Tickets at AMC, when I last worked there in 2004, were $11.50.
Tickets at Carmike, when I was a manager in 2011, were $10.50.
AMC has always been the most expensive. But they build the best facilities, have the best projectors, have the best seats....etc...
Just like with all things in life, you get what you pay for.
Edit: For the record, they still don't make money off of the tickets. They are higher because the studio's know they can make money off of them, so they force AMY'S hand in negotiations. (Something which I don't understand. You'd think the largest theater chain in the country would have more bargaining power.) Because of exactly what I said. Their average quality is the highest in the country.

Now this sounds like a fun game.
What would the order be for a 25 yr old male dindu nuffin?

You know you can just go see the movie without stuffing your face full of shite food? If it's possible for you to go 2 hours without eating of course.
Posted on 12/27/15 at 10:11 pm to HoustonGumbeauxGuy
I went to the theater last night and realized since I installed a sound system at home, the experience of watching a movie is much more enjoyable at home.
Posted on 12/27/15 at 10:17 pm to HoustonGumbeauxGuy
Why don't you eat before you go to the movies if you have such an issue with food prices

When I worked at AMC, you didn't have you sneak. They would let you walk in with any food and non alcoholic drink.
Opening night of LOTR: ROTK. First group who got there to wait in line, walked in with 2 full bags from the grocery store in the same shopping center. Sat down in the foyer at the front rope for the house their tickets were for and started chowing.
I remember it well, it was my first night as an usher, and in the next 24 hours we had 25,000 people come through the doors. Which sounds ludicrous, except it was a 24.
I asked if we needed to say something to them, and the guy I was tailing for the night said it was allowed.
You may still can. Worth checking.

Few years back, I wore a hoodie with the pouch into the theater, walked in sat my drink down, went to the restaurant right by the theater, had them wrap up some chicken tenders for me and put their honey mustard in those small sealable cups and I had a full dinner and a movie for about $15 bucks lol.
