I graduated high school in 1998 and we had internet before I left home. Also had a cell phone in high school but it was a bag phone

cell phones.
That's a good loose indicator.

Who bought your first cell phone?

You: Gen-X
Dad: Millennial

I did not own a cell phone until I was 23 and had served 4 years in the USMC.

1980. I identify with the Crusade generation, those strong-hearted men born 1060-1080. I'm catholic, I'm concerned about Muslims, and I enjoy a hairy bush.

Scruffy hates a large portion of his generation.

1982 is the cut-off I've always gone by. Basically if you could get a boner before Magic made his announcement and if you were in school when the Challenger exploded and if you lost your virginity before 9/11, you're X, not Mill.

Me: X

ETA: If you drove or worked before you had the internet, that's very Gen-X. Think about how different you are from people who had the internet before they drove or worked.

Probably the most accurate definition I've seen. Kids born after 86 or so are just different people.

I don't pay attention to the generation names, but I'm old enough to MAGA.

1981 is when I was born. I am in the transition phase between the two generations. I feel like the population between 1979 to 1985 are their own mini-generation

Gen X. My first cell phone was a bag phone hard wired into my pickup in 1995. We had to track our minutes of talk time because if you went over plan then it was over $.50 per minute.

1970 and IDGAF. I'd already fricked and killed a deer LONG before I owned a cell phone or had 'dile-up'

The 80s was definitely the late transition decade. We were the early indicators of what millennials would be like. Showing minor symptoms of some of our generation's best and worst qualities (and finding your own peers repulsive, especially if you grew up with older siblings).

Definitely a Millennial, but have a lot in common with Gen-X just due to where I grew up.

I consider a millenial someone who doesn't remember life before the internet.
