Of course Loara and Ida were on the strong side but made to look worse due to improper building methods.

During Laura, The weather station at the Lake Charles airport picked up a gust of 138 mph and was then destroyed by higher gusts. That’s nearly equivalent to a EF-3 tornado wide enough to affect the entire city. You are not very bright.

I named called that moron and he deserves it… trying to downplay any major hurricane with his inane comments, especially Laura and Ida, is disrespectful for the people who had to deal with that. frick that guy.

But I get your point, Legend destroyed that imbecile.

Do I need to run the list of historic hurricanes in the Atlantic Basin that have occurred later than this date? I’ll name a few that have impacted the Gulf later than the date this thread was started:

- Hurricane Ivan (2004)
- Hurricane Katrina (2005)
- Hurricane Rita (2005)
- Hurricane Wilma (2005)
- Hurricane Gustav (2008)
- Hurricane Ike (2008)
- Hurricane Harvey (2017)
- Hurricane Irma (2017)
- Hurricane Michael (2018) - made landfall in the Florida Panhandle as a Category 5 hurricane on October 10, 2018.
- Hurricane Laura (2020)
- Hurricane Sally (2020)
- Hurricane Delta (2020)
- Hurricane Ida (2021)
- Hurricane Ian (2022)
- Hurricane Idalia (2023)

The way things are shaking up, we won’t have a single storm enter the gulf. I’m sure any will pull north and become sea storms, but the numbers will go up to satisfy the climate fear mongerers.

seems like when we start getting fronts through here that winds it up

Generally, its a good sign but it needs to be later in the year. The mid-latitudes arent really taking over yet, which is what that first good cold front in late Sep typically represents.

The current regime is pushing everything off the east coast. In addition, the easterly wave train isnt choo-choo'n right now. Not a lot of waves, those coming off are a little north and not in a great development spot.

But season aint over yet...

We already HAD a hurricane in the Gulf this year.

Have you ever watched a baseball game where a pitcher has a no hitter going? You don’t talk about that situation because if you do…. You’ve jinxed them.

In other words….. you don’t talk about the current GC situation. This may sound stupid but many folks on here are still feeling the results of past storms and are very superstitious.

I wish this thread would be deleted.

Two.

One tore up Houston, the other just happened to hang a right before it could ramp up or it was projected as a major hurricane for the northern gulf coast.

Has nothing to do with climate change, weather happens in cycles and varies based on random chance events.

Storm season statistically is just getting started.

In an interesting twist this is how everyone else in this thread feels about everything else you’ve posted in it.

You haven’t made a single cogent argument or supported anything you’ve said with anything approaching a fact.

Even on a board that overwhelmingly agrees that man made climate change is largely a hoax, no one agrees with your posts yet you keep coming back for more.

I'm talking about actual significant storms. Not rain events what wouldn't of been mentioned 30 years ago.

Hurricane Ida was 3 years ago. Category 4 and did a huge amount of damage in south LA.
