Agree on that. Adamantly.

I thought I might have missed some entertainment at some point.

That’s an understatement. The Parish President is literally a land surveyor.

In case anyone is unfamiliar with the situation there:

Short short version: Cointmont is Trump, majority of the council is uniparty.

In 2015, there were 3 major candidates for Parish President: Cointmont, Matassa, and Loar. The machine wanted Loar, whom they framed as a young wiz kid, but he was meant to be a rubber stamp for the developers. Matassa was an old crony of the Donaldsonville mafia who had worked in government forever and was from Gonzales. They intended to use him as a splitter candidate to peel off old wypipo support from Cointmont.

The result was that Loar ended up left out of the runoff. Amidst major allegations of voter fraud, Matassa won the runoff against Cointmont by less than 100 votes. The Matassa administration was a complete disaster. He even had audio of him being involved in bribing a candidate to drop out of a Gonzales city council race and narrowly avoided a recall.

Cointmont runs again in 2019 against Murphy Painter (former law enforcement). When allegations of serious sexual misconduct and a coverup by Painter while a police officer, Painter drops out and Cointmont wins in an epic landslide, but a majority of the council are loyal to the Donaldsonville/developer mafia.

Lawler and Orgeron end up elected as council members. The council members mobilize to oppose the Parish President in any way possible. They even attempted to change the home rule charter to eliminate the position of a Parish President and replace him with a Parish Manager whom the council would appoint. They did the same thing with the East Ascension Drainage board in an effort to reduce the Parish President’s power.

Those acts, among many many others with respect to drainage and development, motivated a mass recall movement against those council members who oppose the parish President. Lambert, Casso, Lawler, Orgeron, etc are all in deep shitte.

What's the status of the recalls? I pass through and see all the signs, but haven't kept up.

Fire the entire Board and get one that can do their jobs.

The effort is underway and has been for a few months. It’s ridiculous how hard you have to work to get people to wake up, pay attention and sign the recall petition.

Orgeron said last week he was physically attacked. WAFB has issued a records request for a copy of the police report from that attack.

“This past Friday I had an angry client attacks me, knock me to the ground, did a pretty good number beating me, kicking me,” Orgeron said today.

Orgeron Needs to resign. He has lost the confidence of the people. He has dishonored himself and his position.

the guy did a number on him? I don't see any evidence that he took an arse kicking. Maybe he is just fat and out of shape.

Why doesn't Cointmont just get his guys to setup the council members with secret recordings? It's an effective method that is very often overlooked by the general public.

How is the recall against him and Casso going?

Making good progress?

I want those POS out. Hardworkers in the AP deserve so much better than them.

Saw the WBRZ report on this tonight.

Geez the power of some people can spin a topic. Bringing up a voicemail left by Robert to undermine what the old guard has been doing in AP.

No doubt this move is going to start a push to get Robert off the drainage board.
