I think this makes him top of his field as an educator. Depends what you define as his field. Like most really smart people, he’s involved in a lot of different things.

Science, using the scientific method is good.
"Science" -- when you are paid to get a result, and MODIFY and TWEEK your findings until it matches your desired result....
Only works on morons. Like you apparently.
So recap in layman's terms = Real science - fantastic.
Guestimations, estimates, projections, and futuristic models -- not good.

I’m glad he gets people interested in space but I personally don’t enjoy his shows. I tried to get into the podcasts but there was way too much non-related fluff.
