This… she’s a puppet for someone behind the scenes controlling the strings, just saying

With that being said she’d make an excellent wife

I can't believe some people in this thread. I mean some of y'all have called her the hard r. I'm not stooping to your level. Down syndrome people are more intelligent than 90 percent of people in this thread.

Bingo!

And a hell of a lot more pleasant to be around.

I am not an expert by any means, but I happen to know several people who have kids with Down Syndrome so I have learned a lot about it.

There is more than one type of Down Syndrome. One is called Mosaic Down Syndrome. Most people with this type have a normal IQ. People with the other types usually are more significantly impaired, but it really depends. One family I know has a son who is significantly impaired and can't speak. Another has a daughter who is cognitively normal and was just elected Homecoming Queen at her school. She has some common Down Syndrome features, but they are much less pronounced that in some of the other kids I know. The other kids we know range between these two.

If this lady is like the one girl we know, she is a pistol and smart as a whip. I just hate to hear anyone referred to as a "retard" even if they are cognitively impaired. They are humans who deserve respect. The non-verbal kid we know is a sweetheart. He loves music and always lifts his hands in praise during worship service at church. He doesn't deserved to be ridiculed.

Interesting, thanks.

What a difficult situation for everyone involved. It's awesome to see people rise to those kinds of challenges.

Right, Liz. I'm wondering at the downvotes you got for that.

My wife's daughter got her fist job at a fast food place at age 15. Her scumbag boss and a co-worker drugged her cola and raped her. She conceived. She was in the car with her dad to go to the clinic when my wife ran out to the car and succeeded in stopping them.

The result is an incredibly gifted, entertaining, loveable 22 y/o young man. I can't imagine a world without him.

People with Down syndrome are awesome. They are some of the most passionate, grateful, genuine people on the planet. We’d all do well to take a page out of their books, at least I can say that for the people I have known with it.

1000% agree! I’ve seen some posts on this board by the Handicapable which would make this woman a Mensa candidate.

Wow, just wow.

I knew of of a very religious and cognitively underdeveloped young woman who was working nights at an indoor storage lot. She was raped by a man, not of her race, and carried the baby to term. The child was loved by the family.

As for your stepdaughter's boss and co-worker, may they fear their afterlife.
