Seems like the issue was stage seperation in flight. Im willing to bet they figure that one out sooner rather than later.

Oh and figure out why they lost 5 Raptors at light.

The data from this alone is priceless. I didn't expect it'd make it through.

Clearing the tower was the goal. They made it.

You cant make an omelet without cracking a few eggs. It'll be funny to watch the ignortant knee-jerk reactions from keyboard warriors and the hate everyone will happily throw at Musk now.

But that was awesome. It got lift off, and cleared the tower, and maxq.

Time to tweak the separation mechanism.

Why is everyone patting themselves on the back. This looks like a failure and massive expense.

You're kidding. This is the most powerful rocket ever built.

I have seen comments about the size of this thing. Does anyone have a quick image of it vs. Saturn 5?

Also, the 5 engines that were out... That seems to be an obvious point to watch and understand. They need that thrust otherwise why carry the weight associated?

What a massive step forward. But I'm admitting I don't understand a flip before separation. Why is that preferable to the traditional booster separation?

Still amazing

That was one huge rocket they sent up successfully.

The principles behind getting us set up on the moon I have been waiting for since the first moon landing. To explore space from the moon will be an immense advantage.

It was a reduced thrust to weight ratio today, something like 1.3 instead of 1.5 of what will be normal, and what falcon has.

So it was relatively slow, but expected.

Also the ignition sequence for 33 engines takes 6seconds by itself before liftoff.

There's some leeway built into the Raptors. They expect a few to go out and still make orbit.
Max Q is huge but they seemed super slow on ascent after that. And maybe one issue with stage separation. Booster performed as intended in the flip.
