I know the city is broke so I'd like to save the city some storage fees and take the Lee Statue and put it in my yard

Andrew Jackson was president of the US and the hero of New Orleans in the 1812 war against the British. He wasn't even alive during the civil war. Why do they want to take down his statue?

Probably because he owned slaves back then like every other President (minus two I believe). He had huge accomplishments and huge flaws. He was called the Savior of New Orleans though.

I wonder how many people that want the statue taken down know that he was the founder of the Democratic Party though? I guess we'll have to do away with that too.
