Their seating process feels like The Hunger Games.

SouthwestAir’s entire system for obtaining weather report packets is down — so the whole airline is barred from taking off, per FAA regulations
I wonder if they're on the FBI radar?

Southwest is making Spirit and Frontier look like five star airlines.
And yet SWA still has a lower percentage of delays today than Spirit.

No
And looking at flightaware dont think whole fleet was grounded. Some airports SWA planes never stopped taking off. Some none took off for about 90 minutes (Midway)

Southwest somewhat survived last week’s shitshow because most people view all airlines as indifferent. Thus there’s a low bar for customer service because they know in general people aren’t going to go elsewhere outside of 3-4 competitors.
If Southwest has another catastrophic failure of some kind soon, then they could really be fricked.

The weather? Pilots can't look out of the big windows up front?

F around and blame your company’s stupidity on IT and find out :)

Saw a long post from a long-time SW pilot recently that summed it up pretty well - recently outgoing CEO was a finance guy. Hired another finance guy as COO. They lost touch with the day to day and front lines in favor of Wall Street returns
That’s pretty much every US airline. They’re basically all credit card companies with flying billboards now.

I’m starting to think that all of this has been a massive hack of SWA and neither them nor the government want to admit it.

This is suspicious because the stock was being pumped hard recently and now two gut punches. The manipulation is strong

Sounds like whole fleet. Sitting in the traffic pattern of KDAL and the sky is empty. Weird.

they really should just shutdown. Who wants to get on a plane operated by these clowns?

Have a buddy that is a SWA pilot. Don’t read anything into this. It is purely a result of negligence to upgrade their computer systems combined with the fact that at their core, they are a budget airline trying to pass themselves off as something they are not. They fly point to point like the other budget guys do. Once a leg in a route breaks down the whole system is fricked and they don’t have the computer systems to move planes/pilots/crews. Would conservatively cost $500mil and possibly north of $1billion to modernize their systems because they can’t upgrade. shite is too old. Would have to build from scratch. TL:DR SWA is fricked
