I don't buy that it's completely Southwest, there's another party involved.

This. Some serious sabotaging going on likely being pushed by several competitors.

Is it fair to wonder if they are showing such a lack of investment in their infrastructure that it could extend to their planes / maintenance

I really hope not

Wut? They have always been a tier 2 airline, its their entire thing, nestled neatly between the majors and true discount players.

The used to be the good guys.

Got lazy and forgot what made them popular. Stopped investing or maybe economy just so bad they had no choice.

Unplug it for a few minutes then plug it back in. Works on Cox DVRs and modems.

It sounds like SW stock will be primed for a nice addition to my portfolio once it tanks

I never liked the self seating thing

Starting to feel like they marketed it that way because they didn’t have the damn software to allow consumers to pick the seats and communicate that info properly to airports and specific planes. Total joke. I have no clue how that actually works.

Southwest is making Spirit and Frontier look like five star airlines.

They're a budget airline - the only difference is they market themselves as fancy.

Saw a long post from a long-time SW pilot recently that summed it up pretty well - recently outgoing CEO was a finance guy. Hired another finance guy as COO. They lost touch with the day to day and front lines in favor of Wall Street returns

Eventually it catches up to you … new CEO guy inherited an operational mess but fortunately has an operations background so he should, in time, be able to get it together
