Southern California does not actually have a water shortage.....

If they did, the ingenious state that California is would find a way to get water from the north to the south.

The level of intellect that exists in palo alto and the local region/silicon valley should have the brain power and the degree power to get it done..

Am i right???

They are cheapasses and dont want to invest in a reverse osmosis plant.

Apparently it's not big enough to make the shortage a non point.

We got a massive desal/RO plant down here in tampa and it produces so fricking much that they shut it down at certain times of the year.

Aka California doenst know what the frick they are doing.

It was designed to be a supplemental plant and not for water independence.

Well maybe they should build one for water independence.

All those tech companies...all those people, all that water right there.
Should be easy peasy since they are all so much smarter than the rest of us

Desal plants are extremely inefficient and require a lot of energy, so it's just not feasible for the amount of people it needs to service.

And, ironically, it was built by an Australian company, not CA's greatest tech minds
