Close-range footage of the Madison, TN area #tornado near I65. The orange explosion is from an oil-filled substation, reportedly

That'll do it. I've wondered in the the past what would happen if something like that took a direct hit. The chances are slim, but as we saw....it can happen. That legit looked like a scene from Twister.

ETA: And there are a couple of people who got it on video then started giving out permissions left and right to any slimy news desk a-hole who asked.

PSA: If you ever get video like that, don't immediately send it to your local news. Don't immediately post it on social media, and if you do.....do not grant permission for use. The first thing you do is go to Google or Twitter and look up storm footage brokers. They're out there. @LiveStormsMedia is one. Ask them to handle the licensing for you. Otherwise, you will make nothing on what could very well be a once-in-a-lifetime shot.

Not sure if it’s been posted, but it looks like at least 3 dead in Clarksville, TN and 3 more in Nashville

More video

It is incredible how this explosion de-condensed the condensation funnel of the #tornado. The explosion changed the thermodynamic gradients dramatically within the vortex and blew up the Clausius-Clapeyron equation

These are valuable (from a monetary and scientific perspective) videos.

The two others that rival it are the video of a tornado in a low precip supercell that was taken from a small airplane, and the Andover, KS tornado video that Reed and crew got.

Reed made decent money off of his videos, I'm sure. The guy who filmed the tornado from the plane gave away the rights to a few different news outlets.

In other words, maybe we could blow up a tornado

Yup. I’m looking at about another 45 mins here in Walker. Storm looks ugly.

Great Scott!! If we harness this lightning; channel it into the Flux Capacitor, it just might work. Next Saturday night, we're sending you back to the future!

There is a suspicious area of rotation west of Birmingham.
