He violated his ex-inlaws right not to be beaten with a baseball bat, so he forfeited his own rights.

Why does he get to wear a hood? He should see it happening as his victims saw.

I thought they did this so people with corrections don’t have to see the guy’s face as he’s dying.

Seems like you could set up a robot to do that so a human doesn’t have to take a life. Let the inmate push the button himself.

That's where I am.

Anyway, do you not see how someone would be opposed to an innocent child being killed, but okay with a convicted murdered being killed? I can definitely understand that perspective

Of course. However, growing up in South Louisiana and living here all my life, surrounded by Catholics and Baptists, I also know that a very good majority of people are prolife due to religious reasons, and I know that those two churches are very much anti death penalty and advocate for everyone on death row. It's very much picking and choosing. There are exceptions for thou shalt not kill, but no exceptions for abortion.

It's interesting.

Am I the only person curious about the rifle? Be awesome if it was an M-14 or at least an M1A.

There's always been an exception for thou shall not kill in self defense and war times, I would assume that the Catholics who are pro-death penalty essentially look at killing someone who is guilty of murder as some variation of self-defense.

It's so much easier to say it in a general way isnt it ?!? I'll reword your sentence and FIFY.

I understand he was convicted of smashing an elderly couple's (who were parents to 5 children and had almost a dozen grandchildren) heads in with a baseball bat. You see his plan was to show up and tie the parents up then kidnap their daughter who was his exgirlfriend. He showed up and bashed both parents 8-10 times over the head until they both were completely unrecognizable. He then kidnapped his ex but she was able to jump from his moving vehicle to save herself. Sigmon then chased her down while firing at her with a handgun. A single bullet struck her before he ran out of ammo. Sigmon stated after arrest if he had more ammo he would've murdered her as well that day. That's who will be put in front of the firing squad.

FIFY

Shooting someone is awesome?

I understand he was convicted of a crime, but "awesome" is not how I would describe punishment.

It is not awesome that he is being shot, or even that he specifically being killed. What is awesome is that justice is being served and he is getting what he deserves based upon the laws in that state and our nation. It is just sad it has taken this long for this justice to be served.

Well, that's not what any of their clergy teach, and that's a heck of a stretch.

That is not a hard distinction to make:

unborn Baby: innocent
convicted 1st degree murderer: guilty

There are certainly reasons to accept abortion in certain circumstances and oppose the death penalty; but, the two are not the same.

fricking, this right here.

It's not the same thing and anyone trying to make an issue out of being "pro-life" and "pro-death penalty" is being extremely disingenuous.

It's South Carolina. Pretend you wandered into some BBQ shack in between Bryan and Waco and asked that question, probably the same result of having to turn down volunteers.
