You’re right, what would really be awesome if they didn’t take so long to do it. And if they would beat him to death with a bat would be super awesome.

This guy? Hell yes it’s awesome
I’m sure this will be the popular opinion, but if you’re on the firing squad… you know the guy is a monster. And, he’s also a defenseless old man tied to a post with a sack over his head.
Those two things will be true in your head while you’re pulling the trigger and you have no idea how you’ll process that, but my guess is that the conclusion won’t be “that was awesome”.

You've got to have some time for appeals process to play out. Decades is excessive. That said, we've seen cases where felons were exonerated after decades due to new evidence etc. May not apply here but system must have mechanism for review otherwise likely to have cases of hasty injustice.

given the mentality of people that work in the corrections industry they will probably relish it
ETA: I think it's customary for at least one of the firing squad shooters to be firing a gun loaded with a blank cartridge

Maybe it’s time to add South Carolina to the list of states that are “the south”
Texas should take notes

Never understood society's need to show a death row killer so much compassion when they showed none to their victim(s).
Pour some gas on him and burn him alive.

It's always interesting how this very prolife message board is always very pro death penalty as well.

If I were one of her family members I'd love to strap him into Old Sparky and pull the lever. It would be awesome !

2001? That's a slow bullet.

It was literally his choice to die by firing squad. Based on his crime, as long as he is dead it doesn't matter although I wish it would be slow and painful like the crime he committed.

My understanding as well.

No chance they go through with it. Some judge or the governor will step in at the 11th hour.

That is not a hard distinction to make:
unborn Baby: innocent
convicted 1st degree murderer: guilty
There are certainly reasons to accept abortion in certain circumstances and oppose the death penalty; but, the two are not the same.

Probably not. Saw a post where they were talking about basketball and had to use "sh**ting" to talk about the player's FG shooting. Only reason I caught it was I thought they were talking about a player taking a shite on the court.
