You're right, just keep letting your kids sit in front the tv. I'm sure they are having a great childhood.
Ever stop to think that parents don't typically go for their enjoyment?
Ridiculous assumption that kids who don't go to Disney spend more time in front of TV? We made 1 obligatory trip to Disney when my son was 5, never went back.Did guest ranches in Colorado, hiked in Yellowstone, cycled in the San Juans. Opposite of TV slugs.
It was the funniest post of the thread. It was pure gold.

Little late to the thread but whatever. You don't go to Disney for the rides (at least not as an adult). As an adult, the parks are for your kids, go do the extracurricular stuff like jet skis, surfing, downtown disney and so on. I just turned 25 and am part of the DVC w/ my family so I'm going 7 days a year, I had to find new stuff to do bc the parks blow for adults (imo).

My family goes every year, we usually are able to get prices much cheaper since we know people. Disney can be an incredible experience or miserable experience, depending on how you structure and do your trips.
Even for adults, there actually is a lot to do. The magic kingdom is designed and of course is a park centered for younger ones. Epcot and Studios offers more for a mature crowd. You can go drink around the world at epcot and experience different cultures which is pretty cool. Studios is more shows, but they do offer rockin roller coaster and tower of terror.
Disney is growing more it seems lately, which is a good thing. Disney Springs is actually very nice. There are lots of different shops and restaurants and other bars. They offer shows and cool things.
Disney world really is much more than going to Magic Kingdom. Beyond that they actually offer a lot of shows and different sceneries for all types of age groups. Go to the water park for the day then go catch a show in the evening.
Being mindful, people who haven't been there before will obviously learn that parks can get slammed at times, which is why its important to pace yourself. Get up early and go knock a bunch of rides and other things out before a lot of people get there. Go grab lunch then chill at your hotel at the pool. You definitely don't need to go non stop all day.
Disney definitely isn't for everyone but I love it personally, I have had a lot of great memories I will forever cherish.

Thread like this make me appreciate my love for life. We go to Disney every year during Mardi Gras and I have as much fun as my kids. I'm glad me and my SO don't take life as seriously as some miserable people do. During the summer we hit a different national park a year. I have a 10 and 7 year old which is prime time for Disney. I'll be able to reflect on my life one day and enjoy the memories in a great light. Hope yall enjoy remembering how pissed you were you because you didn't get the same shock and awe your kids got at places like Disney.

What a retarded fricking post. Trying way too hard.

OP should just get a divorce, abandon his family, and drop his money at Tootsie's in Miami. That place is like Disney for bachelors--you blow all your cash and the rides are about 70 seconds.

Didn't read all the posts yet but you will get roasted on here. Disney is the GOAT for almost everyone living in the South and East coast. It's the southern version of Yellowstone. Sort of like building a ski slope in the middle of a shitty desert.

That would be Great Smokey Mountain National Park. In actuality it is more like the South/East coast version of Vegas without all the sin.

I've traveled more than probably 98% of this board. And not just week long vacations to touristy shitholes like Hawaii, Paris and the fricking smokey mountains. I've lived and worked on 4 continents and 20 countries. Your kids aren't cultured and haven't seen anything special. Disney is the fricking tits and it's great for kids. I go at least once a year.
Moving to another country for work =\= a vacation.

You probably moved because you're a government employee/leech. And you probably like Disney because you're a boring, unadventurous, uncreative redneck.

I have no desire to ever go to Disney World. None. We never went as kids and just always seems like my hell on Earth. Just not my idea of vacation.
With that said, my wife's family went every year and the wife wants to take the kid soon. So we will probably go and I'm sure the kid will have a great time and love every second of it and I'll enjoy watching my daughter have a great time.

Was in California for work so I extended the trip and went to Disneyland for 3 days. Had a fricking blast by myself not worrying about what anyone else wanted to do.

can you tell me what an adult does by themselves at Disneyland for 3 days?
serious question as I have no idea

Love Disney would go 2-3 to times a year if I had time and felt like blowing the money. Planning a fall trip now and can hardly wait.
Though I do miss Pleasure Island. RIP.

If you dont have kids and go while kids are in school you barely have to wait at all. My brother and his wife went a couple weeks ago and sent me pictures of extremely popular rides that barely had any wait time at all.
I also believe that disney puts their rates at a level that provides adequate profit but also keeps the riff raff out of the parks. Im ok with that if thats the case.
And as others have mentioned, even though my wife and I have fun there, its all about the smiles on your kids faces when you are there. Its fun to go there but even more fun when they are having a blast.
