I'm not poor and I hated Disney as well. I like to see things that are real. Animal Kingdom was a joke. If I want to see animals, I'll go on a safari.

We took our kids once, then gave them the option of going back, or going to see "real" places around the world. Guess what they chose??? They'd rather see ruins in Tulum or snorkel the reef in Roatan than see Bert & Ernie and Barney.

Long lines and theme parks just aren't our thing.

I'm sure you're quite the world traveler.

Let me ask you this: Why would you even click on this thread if you hate it so much? What happened to you to make you so miserable?

Because I wanted to see if people had the same dislikes that I did.

It must suck to be limited to one or two vacations in a lifetime. It's like you morons can't comprehend that people can go snorkel the Great Barrier Reef AND go to Disney and enjoy both. Some of you need to live a little more that you lead on here on the interwebs.

More like 1 or 2 every 6 months, but who's counting?

Sorry, I'd rather swim with sharks in the Bahamas than dance with Minnie Mouse in Florida.

That's fine but why can't people enjoy both? Also, you can swim with Sharks in Disney and actually learn a lot more about them than you can from Pedro in the Bahamas.

THIS!!!

We traveled all over the US growing up. I have seen more of this great nation, as well as a few other countries,in the first 20 years of my life than most ever will. We just happen to ALSO love Disney and go there often as well.

Completely agree. We went when our kids wee young and they had a great time but I realized it was just one big hit mall then. We went a second time when they were 8 and 11 and we're bored. Skipped the rest of the week and went to universal studios. At least there are a ton of rides at universal and it's a bit cheaper.

Plus the Harry Potter area is Just so cool.

I am not a slavish disciple of the Mouse, but I will say that WOW is well run and a fun experience.

That said, I don't get the yearly visits.

You just described the lsu football football season ticket holder experience. Grown adults throwing away thousands just for the right to buy season tickets, only to throw away more on the actual ticket costs, merchadise and food. Unless you have a good parking pass, which costs $$$, you'll be waiting in traffic for hours then walking miles just to go stand in line trying to get to your 8 inch wide metal bleacher seat. All to watch about 20 minutes of actual plays being run on the field, half of which are from an outdated offensive system.

i'll never understand why anyone older than five years of age would enjoy throwing their money away in what is nothing more than a glamorized set of malls.

daily passes to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom are around $100 for adults, sometimes more depending on the season. and for what, exactly? so you can stand in line for hours on end for a 70 second experience? oh, wait, so you can have the opportunity to spend MORE money on marked up merchandise and and mediocre food?

that's the hilarious part for these parks...they're malls, folks. sure, there area few legit rides in each, just enough to magnetize you into the park. but look around once you get in there. shops. restaurants. all marked up. all ripping you off. and people throw their money away at these places. they pay $20 for a cheeseburger, $4 for a bottle of water...$30 for some soft plush animal thing...and, oh yeah, this is all on top of the HUNDREDS of dollars you already spent just to get into the park. it's like paying a $100 fee just to walk through the door at your local mall, and once you get inside, everything is marked up significantly.

not only that, but disney has shown that they literally give zero fricks about the quality of their parks. epcot is a complete joke that hasn't been given a proper facelift in, well, never. the "around the world" 360 degree videos are antiquated as hell, featuring analog video that was literally recorded decades ago. anyone with a broadband connection could go to youtube and watch a more informative, better quality video for free. the ride inside the ball thing, again, is ancient and outdated as hell. but hey, there's a pretty good olive garden clone in the Italian pavilion. food isn't quite as good, and it's 40% more expensive, but good enough, right?

i just don't understand the appeal. grown adults throwing away hundreds just to get into parks, only to throw away more money on merchandise and food. and unless you have a fast pass (which allows you to ride a ride only once with less of a wait), you'll be spending hours standing in line for an experience that lasts less than a minute. and most of it is old and outdated (all of epcot, futureworld at MK, etc).

the mouse wants money, and doesn't give a shite about enhancing the state of the parks. need proof? disney just invested tens of millions of dollars, not into epcot, not into outdated sections of the MK, no, into a fricking retail mall, otherwise known now as "disney springs".

it's really just a terrible place.

Totally agree. I went as a teen. I have 3 kids. They've been to Europe, Hawaii, skiing all over the rockies, NY, W Coast, Florida, Smokies, etc., but never Disney. They occasionally give me shite about it, but frick that shite. Disney world is for losers who don't know how to have genuine, real world experiences and fun.

I laugh at the Disney worshippers.

I've traveled more than probably 98% of this board. And not just week long vacations to touristy shitholes like Hawaii, Paris and the fricking smokey mountains. I've lived and worked on 4 continents and 20 countries. Your kids aren't cultured and haven't seen anything special. Disney is the fricking tits and it's great for kids. I go at least once a year.

I get that Disney is not for everyone.

What I don't get is why people that don't care for Disney feel this innate need to shout it from the mountaintops and try to convince everyone else that Disney sucks.

Why are you people so damn insecure?

If Disney sucked so bad it wouldn't be one of the most visited tourist spots on earth.

White girls love to take selfies at Disney World . That's the reason why the park endures.

Well, there's now a word that we use to refer to these grown men and the word is Homosexual.
