I just can't imagine getting so mad about something so trivial that I'd call the police on a 14 year old. Shouldn't adults be worried about more important things?

Maybe the kid pulled out in front of a car on the road and that person called the cops for the kid’s own safety.

This is going to wind up being really expensive for you and perminately life changing for your son.

Before the walls tumble down over both of you, let me say, somewhere deep inside of you, you already know the trhuth about how bad this will get.

Peace to you.

It is, baw. It is aboot half as loud as my neighbor's small push mower. If I am inside, I cannot hear it run. You are wrong, speaking in absolutes aboot my ATV when you have not heard it.

Just continue your wee superiority complex, and keep crying, and using those KMB products. You really are being a bitch aboot this kid having a little fun, harming nobody.

At least you didn't join the group of bitches that had him wrecking into every car on the road, and making up every other doomsday scenario possible.

Did y'all ever figure out how far it was from the house to the church?

If you want your kid dead or arrested, go for it.

agree. Is it worth calling the cops on a 14 year old?

Well, it's likely illegal on neighborhood roads, and who knows if the kid is possibly getting close to cars, perhaps could get hit by a car in an intersection, etc.

Our old neighborhood has a Y in it, and we had kids with golf carts, and they would hang off the cart and go from one section of the road to the other paying no attention to any traffic coming up the other side. Saw them almost get hit twice.
I didn't call the cops, but did tell the parent and he wasn't mad at the kids potential danger, he was mad at me for telling him.

Again, you want that kind of toy, buy enough land to have one on without disturbing your neighbors.

August 2014 - March 2023

~104 Months

30 days in a month

33564/104 = 322.73/30 = 10.76 per day

For over 8 years.

I think I'll hang on the superiority complex. This one, at least.

I see people riding 4-wheelers on public roads quite often. Wonder what's different about them. It's a head-scratcher!

Some municipalities allow "Low Speed Vehicles" or "Mid Speed Vehicles" on public roads...some do not. So it may be based on where you are seeing them. Also, some are equipped to make them street legal (turn signals, brake lights)...some are not.

How to make your ATV/UTV Street Legal

To be fair, I'd bet you're not right because I don't even know what this statement means.

So my 14-year old son has a 4-wheeler that he rides out of our neighborhood to a field/wooded area not far away. A couple months ago a cop showed up at my door telling me that a neighbor called and complained about him riding on the road, and for him to keep it off the road.

Yesterday a different cop showed up at my door, and told me pretty much the same thing. However, this cop told me that next time, the 4-wheeler will be impounded and citations will be issued, AND I'll be arrested for improper supervision. Is this legit? I can't find any law that states this. We live in Ascension, fwiw.

Apparently he DOES have problems following the rules. A cop came to your door and he STILL did what he was asked not to do.

You see how you could be contributing to the issue here?

Ok, well what is it, a-hole?

Y'all keep saying "if you want your kid to ride a four wheeler, buy some land and move out there."

Then here you come saying "no it's still too loud out here in a rural area, don't ride four wheelers off road out here on your land either because it annoys me."

You sound like a miserable prick. It isn't that big of a deal for a kid to ride his four wheeler for recreation. Get over yourself.

I’m sure it’s been said somewhere on here but if your kid hits some woman walking her dog or causes an accident you’ll be either bankrupted or thrown in jail.

The op’s son could be breaking multiple laws

Operating an off-road vehicle on a public road
Trespassing
Is the atv registered?
Does the atv have insurance?
He is also under the legal age to operate a motor vehicle on a highway if in fact that vehicle is legal to operate there.

If the cops want to be dicks they have plenty of ammo.

Are you as a parent 100% sure your son isn't being an irresponsible little shite on it? There was a group of kids on 4 wheelrs that rode them around our neighborhood speeding and revving their engines like crazy for no reason at all....was so loud it woke my son up from a nap in his bedroom.

My guess is that if cops were called multiple times, he was doing something he shouldn't be doing.... keep a better eye

What did you say to your kid after the first cop came to your house to give you a warning?

and you sound like a trashy fricker who has no consideration for anyone else. I never said to move anywhere. I said if you want to buy land for your turd kid to ride his 4 wheeler, buy enough land so you aren't annoying anyone around you. I stand by that. As far as your kid riding his four wheeler, have at it. As long as he isnt imposing on anyone else.

not until he fricks with the exhaust to make it as loud and obnoxious as possible and drives it back and forth for an hour while his neighbors are outside trying to enjoy their evening. Cause Junior won't go ride when its balls arse hot at 1PM and no one really cares. But he'll be making all the noise he can when everyone is outside at 6: 30 or 7:00 PM trying to enjoy a drink on their patio or grill a steak.
yeah, thats rude. Tell him to ride a bike.
