Someone explain "situationships" to me

I've seen some videos roll through my feed with women that are 30+ talking about how they're trying to date and start a family, yet find themselves in 6+ month "situationships".
How does that even happen in your 30's? I get if you're just looking to screw around, but if you're seeking a serious relationship and still find yourself with someone who won't commit months in, seems like an issue with you.

Because the illusion of choice has these women screwing 2-3 guys at once, but they're always looking for that perfect Disney prince that Netflix and women's groups tells them is out there waiting for them.
Majority of single 30+ women are time wasters.

They're starting to get past their prime on looks. Quality men have already gotten married so the ship has sailed on that. All that's left are middle age guys putting in the work to get laid.

It is the new generation trying to come up with their own clever title for what the rest of the world calls “friends with benefits”

It means the chick is halfway in/halfway out until she finds something better then friend zones you for good.

“Men are so repulsive, they just look at me like I’m a piece of meat. I want a man who is emotionally intelligent”
Yours Truly,

When people trivialize their relationships, they get situationships.
“Failure is not an option” through commitment should be the thought process.
They are probably incapable of that as every relationship they’ve been around in their entire lives have not been the 100% commitment variety.

I met my eventual wife in 1985, we were married in 2000. We were FWB's the whole time. She had her boyfriends and my girls. Whenever we were in a dry spell we hooked up. We would get serious for awhile then we drifted apart. Finally around 1997 we both decided to stop chasing. We moved in together and then got married in 2000. She was 33 and I was 34.

Clearly the dudes are getting as much pussy as possible before they bail.
Men don’t want to marry blown out 36 year olds that have daddy issues. This feeling is growing by the day as more women opt to show their butthole off on onlyfans etc.
Men want purity. You marry a women that’s slept with 3-4-5-6 men good luck. No self control. And as a man hunting for prey, you yourself know this as that is the prey you yourself hunt.
However when a man settles down he wants something that isn’t used

Situationship is the new term for someone that you don’t want to be in a relationship with but still enjoy having sex with.

Its because something like 80% of women on dating apps are dating the same 10% of guys on there. Its some wild stat like that
So every girl is trying to date this very small percentage of guys. If you were those guys, would you commit? No they are just drowning in it

Nah, that’s mostly overblown.

This is the actual issue. Men have a lot of wants, but one of their few needs in a relationship is thou shalt not embarrass me in public. The more “promiscuous” a woman’s history is, right or wrong, the more the perception of that risk ticks upwards. In 2025, I doubt that the majority of men care of a woman is “pure” if they could somehow get a guarantee that she wouldn’t do something to embarrass him with future behavior.

I don't know if that is 100% true. I don't think there's ever been a time where 30 to 40 year old women were hotter.

There are probably a lot of "quality men" out there in a general sense. But I think the issue is many of such women have a VERY narrow view of what is considered to be a "quality man". The attractive (moderately) wealthy men have either (a) already married or (b) have no strong desire to get married by that point. But when your "market" is limited to "hot and rich", the pickings are pretty slim.

Women look for Mr. Right, but they'll settle for "Mr. Right Now".
