One thing to remember is when stores and fast food went full covidtard, Buc-Ees and gas stations were always open. A place to poop. A place to eat.

A place to buy lots of shite I don’t need. I always get a chopped brisket sandwich in there. The model is not rocket science. Do you even road trip?

McCorkle,

My only issue with Buceee’s is Texas people bragging on it like it’s a piece of their culture or history. It’s just a gas station.

I have lived in Texas since 97. I fully agree with this too.

Always a gas pump available. No waiting.

Not entirely true. Went to Orange Beach for Memorial Day and the Buc-ee’s in AL was a traffic shite show with lines of cars wrapped around both sides trying to exit— mind you the issue is the surrounding infrastructure.

Wanted to stop, saw the gridlock and passed it by. I stop at every one if I can and I’ve never seen one like that.

It's kinda like seeing your first Wal-Mart Supercenter in 1990. The place was fricking huge compared to everything else, and it seemed amazing. But now I avoid Supercenters for the soul sucking experience they are.

It’s a target, academy, and a gas station put into 1.

Because the parking lot was full (yes, full ) the other day and my entire family was able to use the restroom (despite the line in the ladies room) and get lunch in eleven minutes.

Biggest issue I have is the assholes who put in gas, and just leave their vehicles sitting there at the pump while they go inside the store. Get your fuel, then park in the lot somewhere and go inside.

4 things make Bucee’s a destination for some:

1. Cheap Gas
2. Cleanest Shitters on the Road
3. Good Decent selection of food
4. Good selection of merchandise to browse while waiting on food, a family member finish blowing up the bathroom after a long car ride, or wait on the EV to charge if they start adding EV charging ports

Americans love excess and buccees is excess personified. And its awesome.

Bathrooms are clean.

Frankly, I could spend a few hours in there just watch the people come and go.

They should set up live webcams at the one near Foley.

Prepared food is good...better than any fast food and faster than any table service
Service is good
Restrooms are clean
Shopping is fun
Tons of snack and drink options
Most people are not curmudgeons

For me:

It’s not my love of Buc-ees itself. It’s more of a summation of every nasty gas station I have encountered for the last half century.

It’s a nice change to have a clean store and facilities where the people smile and treat you nice.

If your average gas station was nice, Buc-ees would not exist.

Yeah you’ve never been to bucees if you think their food is “slop”

Clean bathrooms but the traffic and people I prefer to avoid. With wife and son we are stopping there without a doubt.

I rarely hit Buccees myself because I just want to get my diesel and get out
