The standard is annualized. You don't know shite about shite.
It's based off of a basket of goods. The basket isn't entirely dog food. Some segments increase more than others. Ignorant asses.
This is true. The number is always a "per year" figure.
Dog food going up more than goods in general tells me that dog food exhibits low price elasticity of demand. That is, the people making it think you're going to buy it regardless of price. There's no price point at which you starve your dog (or make him eat corn cobs and coffee grounds or whatever).

Your always fricked with essentials going up. Obesity in this country makes anything edible an essential. I do feel like other items just jump on the bandwagon and raise eventually.

My 25 pound bag is now 22 pounds and still went up in price

They can make up whatever statistics they want. Some of us take those statistics seriously. Some of us do not.

It’s a weighted measure. SUPPOSEDLY some stuff is as expensive as last year or cheaper but I have yet to see it.
Energy prices fricked everything.

One item I purchase has not changed in price:
The Great Value yogurts are still 64 cents a piece.
Meanwhile, everything else is up 10+% or more.
Even distilled water.
Was 80 cents, now $1.15.
Whatever numbers games they play, it ain't up only 8.5% for everything

Name something up only 3%

Most people are too dumb to see the reality of the prices of our consumer products, bc the stores are playing games with the packaging.
I'm surprised the same sized bag is available if it were the size with the best value. The shittier value, smaller size is our new normal until higher prices are normalized.

The president said maga republicans were a threat to the soul of our nation and to our republic and 16 hours later said he never said that.
Which to him might be true. But not the internet.

My grocery bills are absolutely up close to 40%, certainly way more than 10%.
Prices at restaurants I frequent are easily up 20% too

Ate lunch today at a local Japanese steakhouse today. Last year the chicken lunch was 7.99. It's 14 dollars now.

Did you expect each and every item to be raised 8.5%? Some items are up 3%, other things are up 10%.
Can you name some items that is only out 3% YOY? Most time a I purcbase are up between 20-40%. Cocaine and sports tickets are the only two things I can think of that are not up substantially more than 8%.

I get the Purina One chicken and rice for my dog. The small bag has gone up about $4 in the last year and the big bag about $7. I'm about to just start feeding my dog table scraps it's getting ridiculous.

Who cares??? You afforded it didn’t you? Nobody is changing their lifestyle. Things costs more. So what. If you couldn’t afford it, you wouldn’t have bought it.
And this isn’t because of the current president. This is because of Covid and the implications of shutting shite down and shifting around the work force. Hey, that all happened during Trump. Stop blaming politics.

STFU are you being obtuse or just trying to purposely stir up shite? For the first time in my life I actually pulled items out of my basket and put them back on the shelf. 12 packs of coke are up to over $6 now.

Really? Who cares that things that are basically essential for family members to live have gone up 40% in less than 12 months?
