Some Contradictions I Noticed on this Board.

TLDR I recognize this board is primarily used for entertainment, but I noticed a particular mindset that may be misguided.
A fair number of posters on here are also into Politics. I realize that many of you want Louisiana and Mississipi to be conservative havens and by extension, the US as a whole.
But a common criticism is that most of the South (particularly LA and MS) are poor states. This is exacerbated by the fact that they are Republican and should have plenty free commerce and big business.
. Texas is the lone exception, primarily due to diversifying their market and not clinging to one industry. Our state taxes and conservative laws DO NOT MATCH, to the detriment of our state.
Overall they are outdone by most northern states and California.
That being said, a few parts of the South do very well. Take cities like Atlanta, GA, and Huntsville, AL. They are places that are growing. They set the example that Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Jackson, and Biloxi need to follow.
Many of you complain about the Leftist moving into the Southern cities to avoid the high taxes. While very true, have you ever thought that they bring the skill sets necessary for southern states to evolve their economy and just become better in general. It may be a joke, but I think many people are waiting for an America that will never come back.
I'm doing very well now, but I had to leave LA. But I know that Louisiana will always be home. I know that they have so much potential, but we can't let fear and bigotry be the enemy of progress.

There is absolutely nothing republican about the government in New Orleans and Baton Rouge

Tell that to Broom and Cantrell

Which demographic drags Louisiana's statistics down? Which political party is this demographic aligned with? I'll hang up and listen.

If only there was a board for this...

Here's your problem; You believe the Republican party supports free markets.

LA and MS aren't low tax states.
And Biloxi isn't doing anywhere near as badly as Jackson, Baton Rouge, or New Orleans.

People who are ultra-right are just as bad as those who are ultra-left. They only see things one way and they think their way is the right way. In the US, we are not suppose to have a completely right or left agenda. It is suppose to be about compromise.
IMO, it is better to be a swing state than to be a shoe in for one party.. As a swing state, there is more political focus on the state because both sides are trying to win it (but Louisiana only has 8 electoral votes so it's not that valuable),
With that said, we do need more industries here. If you are not in oil and gas, tourism, the medical field or in public education there is nothing here for you.

I know, right? They should just start a "Leftist Move into the Southern Cities to Avoid the High Taxes" board.
