I always wanted to do one of those Band of Brothers tours.

Glad to hear you are doing okay. Family and friends are such a huge blessing. I will caution you that the world tends to move on after 3-6 months, even if we widows and widowers aren’t ready for that. If that time period gets a little rough just remember all the good resources like grief share. Best wishes.

Met a guy who did just that. Spent 2 weeks in Italy and Switzerland. Wineries, hiking, meeting locals, and became a photography guy along the way. Said it was a trip his wife always wanted to take and so he did it to honor her and just be alone for a bit.

I read the divorce threads where there’s a lot of advice to travel after divorce and being on your own again.
I wouldn’t read those threads because those threads don’t line up with your situation. Those threads are full of hate, some of them rightfully so, but not for someone with 25 years of marriage. If you have financial security, then go wherever you want.

I'm going through a divorce after 32 years. Living with my mom as caregiver the last 5.
I plan to try to walk the Camino after mom passes and I rebuild finances.
I would overthink if I went somewhere TOO isolated
