My FIL wanted to get us one, and it seems really cool... but we have a HUGE firepit that you can kick your feet up on, and it seems like such a downgrade, and you can't even fit normal length wood in it (easily).

I keep getting ads, and I tried to justify it in my brain, even looking at the tiny one for the back deck or just to have... but it'd have to be run on pellets, I'm not splitting micro-logs just to have a cool firepit.

Breeo… pulled the trigger. Love it.
Even got the cooking grate for it.
Makes for a great Saturday outside watching football.

For those on the fence, their cyber Monday deal is a free mesa with the purchase of a bonfire or Yukon. Not a bad deal.

Best purchase I ever made. Get the bonfire, unless you have a huge family and need the Yukon.

The Yukon is great for a crowd. We had it at the campground a few weeks ago and it put off some serious heat. But for at home, the bonfire is the best bang for your buck.

Go to Brian’s in Port Allen. Buy a sugar kettle that’s approx 3 feet in diameter.

Also get them to make a 2 ft stand for it. Get them to cut a few flour de lis or other flowers and incorporate into the stand. It will be less expensive, prettier and burn more efficient.

$750 for the kettle, then all the expensive fab is way more than the $450 for the Yukon Solo Stove Fire Pit.

The sugar kettle, and fabricated stand is way cooler, but let's not lie to the man. Let him know that your idea will cost him over double.

Does it put out a lot of heat?

I took advantage of this sale and ordered a bonfire and got a free mesa. ($225 total for both if you don't buy any accessories, plus free shipping.) It's supposed to arrive tomorrow. I thought the Yukon would be nice for larger groups but it burns a lot of wood so I decided to get the smaller size. I want to get cooking accessories for it but I'll probably buy knockoffs on Amazon.

I have watched about 5 videos that compared the Solo and Breeo stoves, and all of them showed the Breeo to be better at every level but price point. I might have to look into this.

I did the same. I’ve been using my bonfire for about 4 years now so we decided to get a 2nd one for the camper. They’re badass.

Another vote for Breeo. Much more versatile than a Solo. The sear plate is great.

I have two old washing machine tubs that I use.
One I’m sure is at least 20 years old. Many hot dogs cooked (burnt) over that tub.

If you are close or more or less standing over it, yes. If you are sitting on the side of it 3-4 feet away, not really. The heat is largely directed upwards. You can buy a deflector plate to help with the issue. But like everything solo stove makes it is expensive.

Plus, even the Yukon is not terribly big. If you live in a house with a small backyard in a city/suburban neighborhood it is not bad. If you live in a rural area with more space it is not worth the price tag IMO

For cheaper alternatives, check out the 29” East Oak Pan Stove fire pit or Blue Sky smokeless fire pits

Every time I see one of those Solo Stove's it reminds me of an old washing machine tub made of stainless steel.
I prefer the looks of a more traditional kettle type fire pit, or one made of bricks.

Solo stoves are nice. They look nice and are smokeless. They just don't put off any heat. You have to be right on top of the thing to get warm. I prefer my backyard fire pit. Which you can make smokeless too

ive got a small Solo and a large Breeo. The Breeo is much sturdier and of higher quality. Can also cook over it which is really fun. This was mid Paella
