And you’ve never thought “wow, literally everyone I interact with professionally is annoyed by my presence?”
I am in in-side sales and some of these folks are the worst. I usually give most about 5 seconds of my time, if that.
If their product interest me(which is rare), I will get a business card and a brochure. I will look at it in my slow times.
99% of the time, I deep-six it.
When one of our vendors rep comes in, I usually point them to our manager and see if they have any new offerings.
Other than that, I am not interested in a flimsy ice chest made in Chyna if I sell 500 of their crappy widgets.

If you are a college grad and don’t own the company…….what the hell are you doing knocking on doors?

This is true of all the successful salespeople I know.
No matter what business youre in you’re selling something, even if it’s selling yourself.

I don’t want to take a massive pay cut to do anything else and I work 40 hrs or less a week. I have a mix of a few hours in the office, field and work from home. If I had a great sales day and I’m behind on paperwork, I just work from home for the day and hit the gym in the middle of the day.
I’ll phone block from home or my car, book appointments, and take people to lunch, bring in food, and other stuff. I give out a shite load of yeti cups, dog bowls, backpacks, and other seeder things to help me get in the door.

All my appointments made from phone calls and pre set appointments. Some of those appointments requiring air travel.
I had to air travel.Based in Clearwater with a territory from Chicago to Seattle, all of Canada and Alaska. United and Air Canada loved me.

You actually answer your door when someone (that you don't know) knocks/rings? I haven't done that in years. Surveillance cams are a thing of beauty.
Good lord people are fricking weird nowadays

Roofers are the worst.
I get at least one per week.

If you have a visible no solicitation sign, then they are trespassing. Pull a gun on them.
There’s a 90% chance these people are just staking out your house. With that said, who commits to a major service (alarm system, pest control, etc) without doing some research and getting multiple bids?
It’s amazing how many people commit because they don’t want to be a ‘meanie’…. Same idiots who tip the cashier at the airport when buying a $5 bottle of water they got themselves.

I hate when they are set up outside a grocery store. I like Rouses on Juban but they always have someone set up with a table outside. I always grab my phone and pretend like I’m on it

I've had 3 different people show up at my hose in the past 2 weeks trying to offer pest control. Seem like a scam to me.
Last guy was peeking around like he was casing the place. Even asked if my dog was aggressive. I just said not until she need to be. When I declined his service he got irritates and made some comment about not being out there in the heat for his health. WTF.
100% these people are up to no good.

Have you considered that maybe he wasn’t an attorney?

This reminds me long time ago when I purchased my home in the summer of 2004 a guy was trying to sell me a water filter system for the house. I told him sorry, I just made a huge expense and cannot afford a filter system right now, but call me back around March next year (thinking that I would get rid of him).
Well, the fvcker called me March 1st. Long story short, I ended up hanging up the phone on him while he was still talking. Yep, it's my fault for saying no the first time.

They always seem to come in the evening, sometimes after dark. I let my big loud arse dog tell them to go away.

I have two yappy dogs that isn't scaring anyone. I might have to get a dog with some authority behind its bark.

I usually answer the door with my handgun, use it as a pointer, showing them the sign that says, “No Soliciting!”
They move along, after I tell them, there’s the same sign at every entrance of the subdivision.
