Do you know why society views men that choose to be bachelors negatively? Serious question, do you understand why a society would look poorly upon that?

Women decide who gets a date or who hooks up.

Men decide who gets married.

Stick with domestic partners unless you have a truly good Christian woman. Modern women will lie until they get the marriage certificate then change on you.

I don't think it's hate, per se.

Married men look at single men and think, "why aren't you married?"

Single men look at married men and think, "damn, glad I dodged that bullet."

Well the answer in my case is quite simple: selfishness and prioritizing the freedom to do whatever I want, whenever I want without regard to anyone else.

Family life is a beautiful thing, however.

To each his own.

Marriage is great if you find the right person. The problem is most American women under the age of 45 aren't worth marrying.

We have a few single guy friends that have built some real nice businesses. Our business circle had a reality check when one of the guys' wife filed papers and walked away with half of his 18-20 years of hard work. While he has rebuilt his empire, the other guys have no desire to go through a possible divorce after seeing it nearly break out buddy who had an "iron clad" prenup. Still cost him several million.

I think their reluctance to marry actually saves the woman from years of BS, like making sandwiches. Women should be grateful.

I’m hoping to get 1/2 of what she has IF we ever split. Like I said in other thread, she married down, I married up!!!!

"Society" should look down on those men as they typically don't help preserve society.

I'm not saying its wrong to be independent and live for yourself, I don't necessarily care what other people do as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.

But if you value "society", you would indeed want most men (and women) to link together and procreate. Otherwise society wouldn't really exist.

Women traditionally have gotten much more shite for not having a husband and a family.

That's true but it's also true for a while that single women are now considered "strong, and independent" while single men are now considered "commitment phobic".

In my opinion, this cultural shift (much like the body positivity movement) is essentially an attempt to make amends for the overly harsh treatment of those women in the past. However, society has grossly over corrected, and needs a return to the center.

And what's up with the weird anti-marriage, anti-kid bots all over the place?

Western society has turned marriage into the most inequitable and unfair contract in human history. When you couple that with the increased likelihood of breach (due to feminist influence and sexual promiscuity), there's a reason more and more men are avoiding the institution altogether.
