Without licensing, he claims, "you're going to set up a situation where anybody can open a floral shop and there's no method to regulate the industry and protect the public."

I’d be interested to hear him expand on how this protects the public. At first glance, this really makes him sound like a big government bureaucrat.

It's pretty indefensible and makes absolutely no sense. Found out about this a few years ago. Simple cronyism in its purest form.

This is almost the exact thing that happened to those monks trying to sell caskets in Louisiana.

That's because it was the exact monks.

My sister in law took the test. She failed it the first time and had to take it again. It is the biggest waste of time and money. Part of the test is having to correctly wrap flowers....you know that green tape that comes on a corsage or bouquet? There is a specific way to do that. If you don't have a license you can't purchase from wholesalers either. So dumb.

We might be #50 in a lot of categories, but regulating flower distribution is not going to be one of them.

John Bel Edwards want to remove this overbearing big government license regulation. John Bel Edwards is a Democrat.

Mike Strain wants to keep this overbearing big government license regulation. Mike Strain is a Republican.

What strange times we live in.

I'm guessing if Louisiana is having problems deregulating the flower industry they wont push to deregulate energy like TX. Instead will just have Entergy robbing everyone blind.

I'm going to call BS on that one.

When we moved from Katy back to LA, I was pleasently surprised at how much cheaper the electric rates were in LA.

You basically need a license to wipe your arse in this country. But a lot of people don’t care when we have people cross our borders with zero accountability.

Hmm, didn't think I would find anything I would agree with that retard on. But I agree with Edwards that the licensing requirement is a farce. It's an artificial barrier to entry. It's anti-business. shite, I've said too much, he might be for it now.

I'm guessing you didnt pick the right plan or company or went beyond contract period of your plan.

It is much cheaper. Electric bill for 2 story, 2,450 sq ft was $43 last month. Highest bill ever was $145. We shop around every winter when our plan is up. Never had the same provider twice.

In exchange for dropping the license, Gov Edwards wants another $2 billion in tax increases to make up the shortfall.

Does that make things fall in line better?
