My brother in law has a Yeti. He uses it at the lake, and at their house whenever they have a big party. He doesn't go out fishing or camping for days on end, so I'm not sure why he got it. My 10 year old Igloo Ice Cube is still going strong, and that thing has been beat to hell. It is a beast to carry out to the beach when loaded down with ice and beer, and with greasy suntan lotioned hands. But I just man up and hoist it up to my shoulder and walk across the sand like a boss. Letting all the soccer moms admire my jelly like mid-section, pale complexion, and tree trunk thighs. I'm starting to develop that old man strength. I don't care if the thing is 100 lbs or more, I can straight lift it over my head and walk with it. There's things that even a cool sticker or hat can't do for you, and there is no way I could hoist a loaded down Yeti over my head and walk with it on my shoulder.

I'm talking about the multiple day trips you referenced. They just packed the ice chest with more ice?

ETA: Not trying to be a dick. Just curious.

If you are going camping for a weekend though and can somehow bring a yeti, its totally worth it. Will keep your stuff ice cold the entire weekend even in the heat.
I am not trying to be an arse but it has been proven time and time again YETI doesnt do anything that IGLOO/Coleman cant do. In fact, I think the Coleman Extreme lasts the longest

Fair enough. Let's do a math problem...

Cooler 1 costs $75
Cooler 2 Costs $300

Cooler 1 keeps your stuff cold for 3 days
Cooler 2 keeps your stuff cold for 5+ days

You have 10 events per years where you need to keep items cold in your cooler for more than 3 days. On those trips you have to buy another bag of ice to add to cooler 1.

If a bag of ice costs $1.50, how many trips over over 3 days duration will you have to take before you spend the same amount of money on cooler 1 as you did on cooler 2?

It would be fine if this was true. However, the video has been posted, you pay more money and it doesnt actually do any better.

You forgot one main point, with an igloo I'm labeled as poor.

No thank you.

Yeti is to rednecks as Chive is to douchebags. They all just want the sticker to look a part.

We get it, you don't like them or wouldn't pay for it. I'll never understand why people can't get over what other people do with their own money.

Im totally cool with people using yeti for the appropriate purposes. However, I have tons of friends that have them and will bring them to the pool for an afternoon.

I'd rather bring my rolling igloo to the pool that 1 person and carry while talking on their phone than a cooler that costs 6x as much and takes two people to bring anywhere.
