but there's much better out there!
to each his own but all that test shows is how long ice last in a controlled environment. Fill them up and let them roast in the sun in the back of the truck or on a boat for a few days. That Igloo will be soup in couple of days.

Pros:
You'll have the Yeti 30 years from now, most likely.
It can take many times more abuse.
(Safe for kids, the drunken fatass friend or relative, and the pet grizzly bear to sit/stand on without crushing the lid).
Keeps ice moderately longer- works especially well transporting frozen foods, etc.
Cons:
The price is steep for the average consumer.
They are heavy.
The added ruggedness and insulation takes away from actual storage space inside.
You must remember you now have an ice chest lowlifes would be inclined to steal, and must take appropriate steps to discourage them (locking them down).
But I love mine.

Yeti isn't for beer or stuff you will have to open and close the cooler a lot for. It is made for camping and fishing trips.

I was in Academy today. Yeti 65-quart was $400 - Coleman Xtreme 70-quart was on sale for $40. I left there with the Coleman.

Let me know when you load up on a 36' CC and head 100 miles out into the gulf for a couple days.
Exactly, this is what the haters don't understand. An igloo is fine and will do the exact same job for a day out in the yard drinking beer. However, if you're loading up for a weekend fishing trip where there's no store to grab another bag of ice, then you'll appreciate the Yeti. Try that with an igloo and you'll have a fun filled weekend of warm beer.

I spotted a Yeti in one of the boats on Swamp People last night. Don't those guys go out one day at a time? I often see footage of them towing the boat to water and getting the gators back to the place that pay them. Seems like overkill to have a Yeti for one day gator hunting trips. Someone should tell them about Igloos and colemans.

Yeti most likely gave it to them and may even pay them to use it for the product exposure.

Was at my daughters dance recital a few weeks ago. It was held at the local HS auditorium. Walking through the lot of about 300 vehicles, I saw a Yeti sitting, unsecured, in a guys truck bed. Told my 8 year old son that guy will be lucky if it was still there when he got back to his truck. If it wasn't stolen that day, I am sure it been since....if he does that often.
