quote:I have both an EV and an ICE vehicle. I can tell you factually that I saved about $40 a month compared to when I had 2 ICE vehicles. I can also link you the same articles you can find on Google yourself that you probably won't believe. But I can tell you for a literal fact that I have saved money specifically on it, but I'm sure that won't suffice either...you don't like facts.
You stated that it would cost less over 10-15 years. How could you possibly know this? Link the studies that show people that have owned an ICE vs EV over that time frame and give me the cost basis for each one.
quote:What? You spend hours more getting gas than I do to on charging. IT takes me 5 seconds to plug in, then a car charges while I sleep. If I have to get gas in my other vehicle, that's about 5 minutes. 10 seconds vs 5 minutes. hmm...I wonder which is factually less time.
Also, in my world time is money. So how much productive time was lost charging an EV vs the 3 minutes it takes for me to fill up gas.

You saw my posts. Didn't like them, but realized you weren't smart enough to talk down my points, so you melted.

I went to McDonald's on my lunch break. The damn double cheeseburgers are .50 cents now!

It is crushing, and every now and then (aka very often), i really notice true multiple price increases. I am a Costco guru and have been for over a decade. I know what shite costs intuitively--like i predict the total at the register to within 10% without fail.
My average trip even in 2020 (comparing apples to apples due to two kids) was $300. Now $500.
I truly do not know how most people survive much less thrive and create any sort of retirement stability. And I think about people trying to buy a home with 8%+ interest rates but no real relief from home prices.
The Road To Serfdom. We're on it.
I remember how people here laughed in my face when I(and others on this board) warned that this was coming.
I have been hedging/preparing for this for the last two-plus years(through in retrospect not as thoroughly as I could have).
Here’s hoping that we make as soft a landing as possible.

And the prices have gone down. It is sickening.

This times 100! They didn’t believe us and then once it happens it’s alway “well it’s easy to say that after the fact” I mean damn, we said what would happen if you shut everything down and it happened
Eta: Then all they say is Trump shut it down, which is true. Throw back the countless democrats who kept everything shutdown and they’ll disappear on you, especially on here

Yesterday, I ran to Home Depot to get my wife some stuff to make a wet clothes hangar above our dryer. All I got was 2 rod holders and a 36” rod. The total came out to be $18.50.
Complete fricking insanity.
Stop being a cheapskate, and get her a real dryier. I am pretty sure the HOA will not like a clothes line in the DSLD subdivision.

I paid $6.99 for a rotisere chicken, use to be $4.99, what the hell? Sucks

I'm thankful I got my fancy law degree when the entire education was less than a year is now. Paid off a house and have low rates on investment properties. Been doing something resembling retirement savings for two decades. Etc.
And I am still very very OT poor.

So if cost you a 20 bill to get away from the nagging arse wife for hour or two
Sounds like a bargain to me.
