Though pissed, I (somehow) refrained from profanities.

Me--Y'all lost my son. Somebody needs to find him NOW!!

(they all look at each other sheepishly)

Them--He probably just got on the wrong bus.

Me--How is that possible?!

Them--Well, sometime...

Me--No, not sometimes! Everytime! Everytime I expect my son to get on the right bus. Unacceptable.

Them--occasionally...

Me--No!!Not occasionally. EVERY TIME. EVERY SINGLE TIME. 100% Of the time I expect him to be on the right us. Anything less than that is unacceptable.

Them--he probably just followed one of his friends onto their bus.

Me--And this is allowed? What kind of system is that? Chuck E. Cheese has a better system than that÷

Bitch--Sir, we are not Chuck E. Cheese.

Me--I know or my son wouldn't be on the wrong bus right now!

It's true you know... Chuck E. Cheese has those black light hand stamps to match parent to child. No way Chuck would have lost your kid.

At first you said this:

quote:

go to aftercare place he is to be dropped off at. Wait 30 minutes. Bus pulls up.

but then you said:

quote:

He will only ride the bus half a mile to his aftercare facility

Other kids on the bus that need to be dropped off to. Closest does not equal first off.

He didn't say that the aftercare is only a half mile away but he has to ride 50 miles to get there. He said the kid "WILL ONLY RIDE THE BUS HALF A MILE".

If you and your wife can't be bothered to watch your own child then why would you expect the school to do so?

At the very least, if it happens again, I would look up my school board member and complain.

If you don't know who that is, go to LINK plug in your information, then click Voter Registration, then click Who are my elected officials?, and then scroll down until you find your School Board member.

I would then go to LINK to find that person's phone number, and complain until something gets done. That School Board member is one of your elected officials. They're supposed to handle things like this. If they don't, they shouldn't get your vote the next time.

You have every right to be pissed. The fact that this is the first day of school isn't even acceptable excuse. It being the first day of school the school should have made additional precautions to ensure this didn't happen due to the chaos that is the first day.

My kids' school put signs on all the kids with their bus number grade and teacher on out for when they get on/off the bus.

It would depend on how the school reacted to the situation, but at minimum there would be an intense, recorded discussion with the principal.

At Lakeside Primary the buses are colored coded and they put a matching colored wrist band on the kids school shirt or backpack. Never had a problem or heard of one. Not sure if this is done this way at every school. There are about 12 teachers and volunteers at bus lane making sure kids get on the right bus.

Sorry this happened to your kid. My son is diabetic and I would've lost my shite too!
