what kind of looting? like food and water, ok.
but beer electronics and crap like that. screw all that.

There's even some argument for booze. It's a more sanitary option in floodwaters.

Acting like this is the entirety of the left is an insult to your own intelligence.

Incorrect. That kind of narrative manufacture and rhetoric is the foundational basis of the Left. All the way back to its origins during the French Revolution. Leftism is specifically based on attacking the structural tenets of Western Civilization and using hyperbole, class warfare, and propaganda to compel what Leftist leaders refer to as "useful idiots" into supporting a narrow ideology.

If you're mad about this, it's your fault for giving a shite. I've been thinking about how outraged everybody is over everything, and it's clear to me that the reason for all of this is the 24 hour news cycle and emergence of blogs and viral news and Facebook and whatever else. If looting is considered survival, it's by some .00001% of whatever fringe wackshit is floating it. But I think it's more your fault for getting outraged. You gave them the attention they craved. You engaged them. You legitimized them.

Everybody is mad. I just take care of me and mine and have a good time. The rest of the world can kiss my arse.

I'll play devil's advocate here.

Obviously it depends on context but you shouldn't shoot anyone unless someone's life is in significant danger.

If someone is breaking into your home to steal your shite, even if it's just food then that sounds pretty dangerous to me and I think it would be reasonable to shoot that person.

If someone is breaking into an abandoned store and getting supplies then that's fine in certain situations like these.

If someone is breaking into an abandoned store and stealing TVs.. obviously that is really shitty but I still can't help but go back to the original premise. You shoot to neutralize threats to yourself and others. If the thief isn't threatening anyone's life then you let him go and hope the store has insurance.

If you're a responder in a flooded area then you likely have more important things to do than protect property. It's a shitty situation but it's also rational.

Who cares. They're gonna throw that shite out anyway if the place flooded

Ask anyone from last year's floods if they would have had the attitude of the above post from a genuine idiot. Would they have just looked away if a few looters entered their homes a day after the flood and began taking stuff-after all, according to the idiot, the shite was gonna get thrown out anyway? I know I would not be so kind.

Looters that are stealing food/water? No problem with that.

Looters that are stealing electronics? Kick them in the dick.

Everything about this post makes me happy. If you need water and food, yeah by all means, go get it. If you are taking boxes of shoes or a flat screen, get shot.

I'd have zero problem with someone breaking into a grocery store and taking food at a time like this. When it's foot locker, Best Buy, the liquor stow, etc, they should be prosecuted or shot

I'm mostly in agreement with you on this, but I might move the liquor store over into the grocery store category.

What about breaking into vacant homes and rifling thru their cabinets?

I mean. I kinda see both sides here. If people are truly hungry in a disaster and a store is full of goods that are going to spoil, I get that it could and likely is just be people trying to meet basic needs. On the other hand, I definitely don't think the guy should be chastised for reporting it to law enforcement to deal with how they see fit. The looting could've been more serious/violent than a couple guys running in and grabbing some bread.

Well, since grocery stores have plenty of alcohol, and plenty of drugs, how can we really know what they took?

Stealing food? Yeah. Stealing shite like TV's just for the sake of Stealing? That's not survival.

You better believe if I am stuck on a roof and there is a beer store close....I'm looting me some damn beer, but....

I wouldn't be stuck on a roof in the first place though.
