I had a 1st gen one, it sucked (no pun intended), but I did buy it used.
Today, these things are $1000 a piece. For that kind of money, it better have a Fleshlight attachment.

If you get one and it gets cat shite on it, DO NOT spray it with the hose.
I killed mine this way. But going to get another one this week.

We have a Roomba. We lock it in the bedrooms to vacuum and it does great. My house is a maze so it doesn't work all that great in the common areas too well. In other words, we still vacuum half the house with the dyson.
We use it a lot... but over all not worth it. If I lived in an open studio type apt or condo it would be awesome.

Our first gen one was awful as well. Worked great for the first few months then never held a charge, would work for 2 mins before conking out.

I have a Neato Botvac D80 and love it. Does about 1200sqft in an hour, and my house has a lot of obstacles

The Roomba itself is legit. Thing is a beast. But my winding house plus my kids shite everywhere steers it in the wrong direction too often.
We stick it in the bedrooms and do the rest of the house manually.

No, contrary to what many people here say, the Neato is stupid. Like literally does not have the computing or intelligence to execute around my house. Maybe my house is unique in some way, but that thing did not perform well at all.

We have a Neato BotVac Connect. I love it. It does a great job. I can control it with my iPhone app. I can turn it on anywhere. I'll get a message to my phone from it when it gets stuck under the couch or if the container needs to be emptied.
