Well, I can only control what happens in my house. But I agree. That's the nice thing about 50/50 custody though. You've got that awesome time with your kids, and then the time you can be an single adult and do all the things that go along with that and never the two shall meet.

A bunch of guys saying yep that's true. A couple women saying guys are stereotyping for thinking its true. A couple of posters with broken dreams.

The usual.

Basically

*Most people laughed at it and took for what it was.
*Hit a couple of guys too close to home.
*Some people were "offended" at the negative portrayal of marriage.
*Couple of posters got into arguments.
*LL came in and get it got derailed for a little bit (not her fault).

The first panel before "I want marriage" should be "you're the best, I love sex & giving you BJs, you'll have me forever."

I know they do, I said the PARENTS don't really notice it in the kids while it is happening because kids are so good at suppressing their feelings when shitty stuff is going on.

People just suck at comparing their lives to others, and sadly people would rather "look" like a great marriage than in reality be in a good marriage. They 100% buy into the things they see on tv, in movies, and the media. They can talk all day about how they know they know, but just think about those pictures people post of a seemingly "perfect" looking couple and it says "life goals" or some shite. They are 100% about the vanity of it all, and underestimate the character/emotional investment of it all, and once the vanity can no longer be maintained, they ask, what am I doing here now?

I could never live in a vain marriage, never in a million years. I can't marry a girl who idolizes celebrity marriages/couples, or doesn't understand the true grind of a marriage, which can be rewarding if you have faith and commit.

I don't really see the big deal about getting married in general. My girlfriend and I are happily UNMARRIED with a 2 year old, and have no plans of doing so anytime soon. It blows my mind how many people are shocked by this. A piece of paper will not make our lives any different in a positive way, and our son is one of the happiest kids I've ever seen. I get that look of disgust or shock about half of the times I am asked about my "wife". Living in a bible thumping town, I shouldn't be surprised but I still laugh to myself about it almost every time. We know we're not the "normal" or "typical TV" family, and that's perfectly fine for us.

So true. Couples get married all the time, like you said, knowing they're constantly fighting.

The only 2 long term relationships I've ever had(including my current one and 1st marriage) were with girls who were very calm, mellow, whatever you wanna call it, but didn't care to get into argumnents over every little thing. The ones that did like to argue or were just a bit crazynever stuck around very long or we were both completely on the same page about how not serious our relationships were lol.

Eh, the stigma of having a bastard isn't what it once was. Times have changed.
