Sad but true.
To the happily unmarried guy, that's great for you I guess, but the "little piece of paper" shows a commitment to lay down your life for your spouse. As you're living now, nothing can stop your girl from taking off on you, or you on her. No strings. And if & when that does happen, that's when the shite will really start to stain. Marriage offers protection of your rights as a dad, a property owner, etc.
Your situation is fine if there's no kids, but how's it going to look to your kid when he finds out mommy & daddy didn't care enough about each other or him to make y'all official?
All that aside, OP is pretty funny. That's why you gotta choose wisely.
Go ahead marriage haters, flame away!

You don't need a piece of paper to love your SO and/or your kid.

Their life is perfect because the world is so awesome now. Didn't you hear?
Never mind that the only way for most people to make a decent living means having no more than 2 kids and only seeing them a few hours a day.
We started as monkeys who were with our loved ones all day every day and happy as a pig in shite. We've evolved to people who sit by ourselves in vehicles or offices, staring at screens alone.

He said the stigma has changed, which is true. He didn't say it caused any less hurt or issues to the kids.

Well, Fin, you sir are a true gentleman and scholar.
They can't all be as good as you.

Probably because he realizes how childish the stereotype of all men being miserable in marriage is.
Whorebag women are the ones that aren't satisfied with anything nowdays
