but it came out of the shop with zero improvement, to the point I have to take it back in, do I get my 2k back? Will they credit it against whatever repair they have to do? (Which I fear might be a full tranny replacement)

I write nasty letters for a living, so I’m not worried about that part. But am I allowed to expect that for 2k the problem will be fixed?

I am ready to go to war but I am gonna give them a chance to make it right.

65k miles on my Explorer. Really wanted to keep it past 100k. No extended warranty. I feel like I’m fricked.

This! But also, did they try and act like it was all fixed?

What does you paperwork say? A lot of the dealerships have 30 days on parts and labor.

Also, if it’s not under warranty why are you still taking it to the dealer?

Sounds like a legal question. Know a good attorney?

Good luck with that. I have a Silverado with a transmission that’s about to go out and a 6.2 that’s about to blow up.

Is this a thing?

The shop we take our cars to, we go back if there’s a problem and they make it right no charge…because they’re not turds and they want to keep our business.

Exactly. Always take it to an independent guy. He will make sure it’s right because you help him keep his lights on. And word of mouth is his best advertising. The guys at a dealer or at a chain don’t give a shite. They gonna get paid anyway.

Your mistake was taking it to the dealership. Get it towed to a reputable transmission shop.
