The ones I had were giant and perfectly breaded and cooked.
I didn't have any of their fries so I am not sure about that. Not certain if anyone can beat chick fi la's waffle fries

If I had to chose a chicken meal with nothing else being considered, canes would get the vote and it is not even close...damn good food in a spotlessly clean restaurant with top quality employees.
what is disappointing about the whole thing is that the quantity of food keeps going down while the cost keeps rising...this is why I have eaten at canes less frequently lately.

Canes is a quality business. For what it's worth, I worked there and have absolutely zero issue going back to eat.

Canes has dropped in quality but still ok. The tenders were once crispier and better tasting than they are now. Their fries stink, but the bread is great.

For what it's worth, if you want crispier you can ask for them to leave it in the oil for a little longer.
Just say you want them "Extra Crispy".

I like the seasoned fries at Krispy Krunchy Chicken way better than any fast food place.

Have eaten at Canes over about the last 10 years. Had it last weekend on my way out of Houma. It was great. I couldn't discern any drop-off in quality or portions from when I first ate there.
Popeyes spicy is the gold-standard of fried chicken but Canes and CFA are both very good.
