My best friend caught some god-awful disease there that almost killed him. He was in the hospital for three months and they removed his spleen.

it wasn't the best of conditions. my westpoint friend got sick and we had to leave earlier than planned. was kinda grateful.

I was..a week before I headed out to basic training in Ft. Lewis..wasn't dumb enough to swim in the river, but had a hell of a time.
Hopped the barb wire fence and acted the fool for the couple of days that I was there.

I was there. Snuck in in the middle of the night.
I remember someone selling sacks of cow poop and telling people it was weed. Anyone remember the hermit who was living in a small wooden hut behind the levee?

I lost my dam clothes. I had to borrow some pants to get out of there.

My dad was a state trooper and was there. They picked up a some hippie that smelt terrible. He couldn’t remember the last time he bathed. The guy a flea collar on each ankle to keep the fleas off him.

I was an 11 year old kid back then and I remember we went to see my grandparents who lived in Krotz Springs. Traffic was backed up at least 3 miles and I remember we turned off of 190 onto the old road that led into Krotz Springs. As Captain Ray said, there was only one bridge back then and it was 2 lane.

Some of the people headed there never made it to the festival. There were lots of them camped out on the other side of the river from Krotz Springs near the east end of the railroad bridge.

My grandma, my aunts and my Mom took us down to the river to see what was going on. Lots of people swimming nekkid in the river.

It was quite a sight for an 11 year old.

My brother used to talk about guys, and girls, streaking en masse at LSU in the early 70's. They'd quit doing it when I got there in 77, save for the 2004 Oregon State game.

Did any of you guys streak?
