It’s fake, Democrats would never do such a thing.

Last time it happened I was waiting on an FHA loan to fund.
This time a website we use everyday at work is down because it is federally funded.

Depending on how long it goes I may not receive a pay check even though I am required to go to work... all over a pissing match between adults
It's pathetic

I didn’t even know that it shut down.

Talked with my Aunt yesterday about it as she works for a federal agency. She said outside of highly visible things like National Park closures it is far more impactful to government employees that don’t make a lot. They often aren’t paid for their time or are not able to work during the shutdown.

The bad thing is, if it doesn't directly affect people, then those people don't give a frick.
You have a jackass president who is responsible for the shutdown (he said that he would shut it down and take responsibility for doing so although his tweets contradict what he said on camera. Both parties agreed to keep the government open until February so that they could get passed the holidays and then come back and work things out, but he wouldn't sign that bill).
And he don't give a shite if there are people who need the money the most, will not get paid..

I work in a town near a large federal installation.
Traffic right now is infinitely lighter morning and evening.
This could have more to do with the holidays and all the free no work days the government gives around this time

So far I can’t deal with the Coast Guard NVDC and NFIP is shut down.
That’s it so far

Zero but they need to curb spending and stop kicking the can down the road.
This shutdown threat is disgraceful ever time it happens. Out lawmakers cant negotiate or work together.

Ohh stop being such a drama queen. Shut downs have happened many times. Were you bitching like a bitch when obama purposely closed down shite to frick people over like WWII vets?
People who depend paycheck to paycheck need to stop it. Hopefully they finally learn that sucking on the Gov teet isnt always dependable.

What a revolutionary thought. Poor people just need to stop being poor.

You realize GCNP is not closed?
Grand Canyon National Park is still open in spite of the shutdown. Gov Ducey tapped into special funds to keep the park open.

During the partial shutdown of the federal government due to the lapse of appropriations, national parks will remain as accessible as possible while still following all applicable laws and procedures. Park roads, lookouts, and trails at Grand Canyon National Park will remain accessible to visitors. Visitor services provided by park concessioners and other entities will also remain open and operational, including lodging, restaurants and food service, grocery stores, retail locations, bicycle rental, concessioner provided tours, and park shuttle operations. National Park Service (NPS) staffed visitor centers and contact stations will not be open and no NPS ranger lead programs or tours will be provided. NPS social media and websites are not being monitored or updated and may not reflect current conditions. Entrance stations to the park will be open but will not be staffed with NPS personnel. Most public restrooms in the park will remain open for visitor use. The park’s Backcountry Information Center will be closed. Visitors with previously issued permits for backcountry camping or river trips on the Colorado River may proceed as permitted but no new permits will be issued during this time. Check-in procedures for backcountry campgrounds and Colorado River trips will remain unchanged. NPS-operated campgrounds will remain open, but check-in/check-out and reservation services will not be provided. Visitors in NPS-operated campgrounds will not be asked to leave unless safety concerns require such action. Visitors holding campground reservations should be aware that there is no guarantee their reserved campsite will be ready and available should they arrive during a government shutdown. The State of Arizona has provided donated funding to assist in keeping Grand Canyon National Park open and accessible for visitors. The funding provided by the state will be used for trash collection, custodial services for restrooms, and snow removal on trails and sidewalks. The National Weather Service is predicting winter storm activity and snowfall across Northern Arizona, including Grand Canyon National Park, over the next week. Visitors should plan accordingly and be prepared for winter driving conditions. Highway 67 to the North Rim of Grand Canyon remains closed for the season
Can actually save money. With no one working the entrance to the park....get in for free(usually at least $35 per car iirc)
